Do people DC like this all the time?
I've played all of 3 games as the Spirit and, as you might expect, have bugger all in the way of perks (or much idea of what I'm doing). Still had 2 people DC immediately/on first down.
I've heard people say Pinhead gets a lot of DC's, but I never ran into that many.

Maybe seems like low mmr where beginners play. DCs are very rare on my end.

I'd hope it's low, given I just bought it and I can't be that good on anyone else to bring the floor up much. Would be pretty miserable to try otherwise.

I mean, 2/3 when I don't think I've run into this with anyone else I've even briefly played, even low-mmr Bubba, did sort of stick out.

These games are still super weird, though; I've run into one team where two people were absurdly laggy. Got the adept, at least, that's nice.

Happens pretty often. Not 2/3 games often (mind, when the DC penalty is off - that's a different story), but way more common than it should be.
You wonder how these people derive any enjoyment out of the game if being downed once is too much for them.

Yes, that can happen.
Here are some threads where people explain why they can dc if the don´t like the map or the killer because they bought the game to have fun.
Fun is of course a map you like against a killer who is weak.

DC tend to be so common in this game that it is honestly unplayable when they shut the penalty off. IMO the penalty rates should be doubled.

i play at, what i assume is, mid-high mmr and people just dc whenever they want to.
played a game, 4 gens done, only one hook on me and this meg gets downed pretty quickly in a chase and just instantly dcs. She had no hook states, we were winning, she goes down to a baby, not camping, not tunneling bubba and rage quits.
it wasn't lag or crash either, she talked trash to the killer in the endgame chat. I don't understand it.

Yeah it is. The DBD community will really make you shake your head.
Fortunately it tends to get less as you go up in MMR. At that point a whole new form of sore loser'ism will rear its ugly head and you'll probably want to disable chat functions and make any profiles private.
DBD is a great game marred somewhat by a really childish and sorry player base.
If you can look past that there are some great people playing and you can have some great games.

I get a lot on Plague, more so than other killers.
