Is modifying engine.ini banworthy?

I have seen a lot of streamers and youtubers do this, modifying the engine.ini to get more fps and better view, lowering the graphics settings more than in-game options, but since you're modifying a game file could that cause the EAC to trigger and ban you or sum? Cuz some say it may be bannable like it's a "do it at your own risk" thing?
