Exponential becoming part of swf meta?

Starting to see a lot of it:

Petrified oak x2

Map offering ormond

Alexs tool box w cutting wire and hacksaw

Boons covering half of the map.

Hooking is almost impossible.

Ended up with 2 hooks (1 early game, 2nd killer shack basement) - match example

search boon = revive

try to slug = boon

try to hook = sabotage

Not even sure how to approach such teams

I asked in a thread this week if people were using Exponential, the overwhelming response was basically No outside of maybe memes (and playing Jonah for Adept)

Since almost every player is active on forums. Weird indeed

I used it when playing once when not using jonah for a full boon totems build and I didn't get any use out of it. Mainly because when I was down either i didn't have enough time to set up the boon or I wasn't near it when I went down.

The perk is just way too niche to be used a lot even if your in a swf.

I can't help but feel like you'd be better off with almost literally anything else. It's just that 4 man SWF is the only possible way to get value out of this perk.

Making this perk work sounds like a miserable thing to be on the receiving end of, and I would not like to face this on say, RPD. But I think the misery factor comes from the accumulation of everything combined but I don't think Exponential is really relevant to this play style except as a flavor perk since it fits the overall theme.

Maybe in a month my opinion will change as I receive more anecdotal data on this.

    This isn't meta.

These groups are going in specifically to hold the game hostage so they can force you to DC (so you get a penalty) or force you to AFK (so they can all report you for non-participation).

If I recall, the devs confirmed that this was totally fine a while back because it's theoretically still possible for the killer to win somehow.

nobody said its meta, but possibly becoming.

its just as in last 2-3 days, i’ve met quite few different squads. the only way to win, i see as getting them always close to

basement (which idk how could you force a survivor to basement vacinity - since on other areas they are much safer as being slugged). or get them sabotage so many hooks so they deplete toolbox and hopefully dont have that locker restoration perk

tldr; only theoretical win i see is noed ..but still, odds are not in a favor

Kudos to them as they at least did the gens (rush) but yet i had to open doors to end the match.

SWF might mess with different builds, especially if they want to ######### around, but Exponential will not replace any of the top 4 survivor perks for SWF that truly want to escape.

Now if you're talking about a screw around SWF meta, then ok.. I can see where it might be fun, but it's not something to count on to win. It's to ######### around.

I mean you cant say it just like that…for messing around

You can try different perks, you see it works well. You stick with it (for some time).

With such apart hooks, potential luck or rng with dull totems, yeah…seems quite strong build.

In fact, to be actually really competative killer I only see plague and oni. With a lot factors involved.

I am saying it just like that. You have more control with Unbreakable than Exponential. A good SWF does not need to self pick-up over and over unless it's for fun. When I say meta, I mean best of the best. Exponential isn't good enough to be one. It's just ok. It's situational and for shits and giggles and oh damn look-at-that-"outplay"-because-all-the-stars-aligned memey moments.

    Plague and Oni? :D

That doesn't sound like meta, that sounds like another tool in the "how to bully in a way that people will defend as totally fine and not bullying and winnable" kit. With the bonus of, unlike flashlights, potentially being something that they can never run out of in a match if they have saboteur as backup.

I ran into an interesting SWF that was running 4 No Mither, 4 Soul Guard, 4 Unbreakable, with the last perk being different. Exponential/Dead hard/Saboteur/DS

It was a lot of fun farming and meme'ing with them tbh.

That's a subset of sabo builds in general, and that's not meta in the slightest.

But sure, if more than like 1/10000 matches contain squads like that they can probably make a change similar to the one they made to Soul Guard - some sort of cooldown or other restriction that never comes into play in normal gameplay, and is laser-focused on people building their entire team-wide strategy around the perk.
