SOMA Chapter Concept (Banner, Killer power & perks + survivor perks)

Survivor: Simon Jarrett

Appearance: Simon 2, A.K.A. the Simon that wakes up at Upsilon.

Story: 

Simon awoke in the pilot seat at Omicron. Not understanding how the process of transferring his consciousness to a new body worked, he found himself confused and angry, with Catherine and what he thought was his new body gone. While he paced around the room trying to find a way out of the decaying station, he failed to notice the black fog filling the room. A voice whispered to him, promising another way to the ARK. A door opened, leading to an unfamiliar hallway. With no other options, Simon entered to find himself in a new kind of hell.


Simon's Perks: 

Coin Toss

When on the second hook state, you are given 1 attempt to unhook yourself. This attempt has a 50% chance of success. Failed escape attempts while in the second state result in a hook timer penalty of 25%.


Autophobia

When a survivor dies, all generator regression regardless of perks is paused for 30 seconds. This does not affect generators kicked while the perk is active.


Hearing the Dead

3 boxes containing an item of up to very rare rarity are hidden at the start of the trial. Upon interacting with a dead survivor or broken hook, the aura of 1 box is revealed. A box can only be interacted with by the survivor who first reveals its aura.



Killer: The Puppet/Andrea Suther

Appearance: Robot Girl, enemy in Site Omicron.

Story: Like the rest of the crew in Omicron, Andrea Suther was killed by the WAU when her blackbox was overloaded, splattering pieces of her head throughout the room. However, the WAU saw her remains to be salvagable, using structure gel and scrap metal to piece her decaying body back together. The first thing she felt upon awakening was agony as hardened gel and steel dug deep into her flesh. Barely able to move without immense pain, she could do nothing but stand in place and sob.


When the WAU discovered an intruder intent on destroying it in Omicron, it began to use her to track the only other sentient being in Omicron. After being locked behind a door while pursuing the intruder, she once again found herself alone until she heard a voice whispering to her. Not that of the WAU, but of something else, promising a peaceful death rather than the eternal agony of Pathos-II. Taking any chance at reprieve from her torment, the Entity guided her into the Fog to teach her the same lesson the WAU had tried.

Death is not an escape.


The Puppet's Perks:

Sensory Assault


Survivors repairing generators within 32 meters of the killer face a %4 regression penalty for good skill checks and a 0% progression bonus for great skill checks. 


Scopophobia

Survivors who see your aura will have their auras revealed for 6 seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 30 seconds.


Scourge Hook: Rage

At the start of the trial, 4 random hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: 

When a survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook, the hit cooldown for the killer is reduced by 20% for 60 seconds.

Power: Patchwork Body


Special Ability: WAU's Influence

Lockers are replaced by WAU Microfactories. These factories are functionally identical to lockers with the exception of The Puppet, who can enter factories. Upon entering a factory, the auras of all other factories are shown and The Puppet is given the undetectable status effect. A factory can be selected by The Puppet to teleport to. Upon selection, a 1 second animation will play at the selected factory of The Puppet being reassembled and she will be given the options to Exit or Ambush. 


Exiting a factory will remove The Puppet's ability to attack for 5 seconds, but The Puppet will remain undetectable for the same amount of time. Ambushing from the factory will immediately restore The Puppet's terror radius, force her to burst out of the locker and launch an attack in a straight line at 250% movement speed for 5 seconds or until colliding with an obstacle. The Puppet will suffer a 5 second movement speed decrease of 5% after an ambush and a 3 second cooldown if the Ambush is missed.


Secondary Ability: Sensory Overload

Survivors performing rushed actions within 12 meters of The Puppet will gradually fill the power gauge. Once the gauge is full, The Puppet can activate her secondary ability. When activated, The Puppet gains a 5% haste effect, a 50% reduced pallet stun time and increases the speed of kicking pallets by 20%. This effect will last for 60 seconds or until The Puppet enters a factory.


Notes: 

Sensory Overload buffs don't stack.

The Robot Girl isn't really explained lore-wise in SOMA, so I took one of the female characters in Omicron who died and whose corpse you don't find and rolled with that for a story.

Factories can't be entered within 12 meters of a hooked survivor to prevent using the power to camp.

Survivors who attempt to enter a factory while The Puppet is inside or survivors who are inside a locker The Puppet travels to will be grabbed out of the factory.

I uploaded a similar killer concept as well as the banner seperately before making this post. I feel this is a more fleshed out version which is why I'm technically posting those again.

I aimed for something similar to Demogorgon with the power. High map traversal ability combined with a chase aid while hopefully avoiding the Freddy route of being immensely boring. I think some really interesting plays could be made with the factories, reaction time is low but survivors do have some warning before ambush attacks and you could catch survivors off-guard if they're not paying attention. Would love constructive criticism, I hope to eventually commission custom perk and power icons, maybe a better teaser image as well. Also, just realized I based all of this off of the events at Omicron but used Upsilon for the map. #########.
