I posted this in a different thread, but this is how I honestly feel:
I'm fairly certain that the "working on camping" statement was just empty rhetoric akin to "boosting solos to swf levels and buffing killers accordingly."
I'd almost 100% guarantee that neither will ever come to fruition.

Honestly i have little faith in that as it is not something you can easily punish killer for because of all the variables.
But i am curious what they are trying tho, who knows and the manage to surprise me even.
Tho a little side note.
It is something created by the devs themselves at the higher MMR, but that is an entire different topic.

i think the best way is to look at why it is done and the state of the game and take on that first, before taking on camping and punish killers for it 😉

It is pretty interesting to see how amped up people are getting over something classed as 'probably never' going to happen.

At end game or survivors swarming the hook face camping is perfectly understandable. The rest of the time it's just a miserable strategy. That said there are also survivor things that need tweaks as well.

Maybe it's some kind of mechanics like Pyramid Head's cages? I'm not sure if that'd be better or worse, but I can't think of any other way of preventing facecamping.

That is like saying if you don't like being genrushed play a different game.
MMR has caused a dramatic increase in both tactics. You can't fix one without fixing the other.

Finally a reasonable comment. Sluzzy I've always admired how you stay critical and unbiased.
Indeed, we need to make it clear that the game design obliterates the possibility of fair and sportsmanlike behavior, as BHVR is badly managing their updates and balance patches.
Firstly, we send to their headquarters a large file of all the problems in the game from Killer perspective and one from Survivor perspective. The one who reads the first will call for major nerfs to Survivor - and the one that reads the latter will call for major nerfs to Killer. But when they realize this and come face to face with the accumulated failures that are their design decisions up until now, they will be forced to recognition that neither side is being made more fun... and then, they will give the game to a really competent developer, resign from the industry, and we live happily ever after.

Only if they alter gen speeds at the same time.
To be clear: This is not an 'us vs them' comment form me. If all hooks work like P.Head's cages, and Killers are now forced to 12 hook; they will NEVER GET A KILL in a 5 minute match. Or, if they are good, MAYBE 1 kill.
They will never be able to camp the hook if Survivors are nearby, because it teleported away.
They will never be able to camp a killer after the exit gates open; because it teleported away. And if it teleported NEAR the open gate as a free unhook & get away? I know I'd uninstall and never look back.

balancing now is pretty scuffed with camping, tunneling and noed giving more/easier kills anyways

I agree except NoED is fine.
If you can't find and cleanse 5 totems before doing 5 gens; the Killer deserves those kills. It's not an 'easy kill' when he's playing with 3 perks against 16 perks for the entire match.

Dunno about you, but if I could move Survivors to a hook across the map by standing next to them for a few seconds I’d do it every time. I get to patrol right into a contested hook zone. Great for tunneling and wasting time (especially if you proxy and intercept only to body-block a hook rescue to send the Survivor across the map)

Sounds like they forced killers into having to camp to get kills and now they want to take that option away too.

didn't mean noed as a perk in general.
just noed in association with camping. when survivors have no choice but to rush gens and don't have time to look for totems.
noed as a perk on its own is fine IMHO.

This is amazing news.
I for one understand that not every single element of Camping can be removed or punished, but at some point Face-camping does feel like a cheesy playstyle because it promotes not having to patrol gens to create pressure, but rather get it for free right at the hook.
Face-camping has made the game very unfun and unfair for the newer players. Especially since the only means to slow it down are via perks. Perks like DS that the newer players do not have access to right away.

Killers forfeit the BPs they would’ve gotten from that person. That way petty killers D-Rank from Mori’ing too much. Toxic survivors get stomped for being too unsporting. Meaning survs will off themselves on hook to avoid getting Mori’d. They can only be toxic to the team that they abandoned now. On top of a 5 min time out.
Only Myers and P.Head can “Mori” without losing out because that’s their gimmick. Then update Mori rituals so that The Entity is cool with what the your killer is about to do. You basically keep your BPs from the Mori via the ritual. With everything survs have it’ll be difficult anyway. Survs sweat harder when it’s Mori time. It’s not busted at all because Pyramid can Mori freely, and easily. It’s not difficult to make death phase players step in his Chili.

There's never been a basekit camping counter in the live version of the game, despite several attempts at in-studio testing. It's very unlikely to happen, and definitely not anytime soon, due to the sheer risk of balancing exploitability with utility.

Bruh dead hard is the easiest counterable perk. Just don't swing, wait for the dead hard, then swing. Works literally every time. I don't know what you mean by CoH

I'm assuming they're desperate at this point to change it so people shut up about it and so people don't go run off to play VHS and not play this. If so they'll get something going. Personally think they should just stop you from earning points when you do it. No points you have no reason to camp other than to just be a jerk to whomever it is because you won't progress playing that way. Proxi camp you get your points but dead ass walking around the hook yeah no points for you. Though yeah it might take them a while to do it but i'm very sure something is gonna come from it. They could buff borrowed time to work if you have it equipped and you get saved or something of the sort

Honestly a lot of people will try VHS for half a day and then stop. People call DBD a bully simulator but VHS is 30x worse- was in my experience at least- and while DBD encourages interaction, VHS heavily encourages stealth.
They're two vastly different games in terms of the actual gameplay mechanics and loops and it will have a much smaller impact on the playerbase than I think everyone hopes it will.

I haven't gotten a key but I like games like it and Last Year more though last year was pretty bad on the bully the killer thing and anytime they got better with it the community raged and they undid the killer buffs but i played it till the end. VHS i love the graphics and all and the gameplay looks great on both sides to me and being free I think it'll do great

I got a key and gave the account away within 2 days lmao, genuinely couldn't stand playing either side and the lack of matchmaking made it so much worse.

Can't wait for another half baked "feature" that gets rushed through testing, feedback ignored, and declared a success despite community backlash, balance concerns, and mountains of bugs.

My point? It isn't healthy for the game. It's not about wanting to escape most of the time... it's about wanting to actually PLAY the game instead of getting camped at 5 gens until I die.
Off topic- Gen speed is fine (imo). Survivor spawn locations, certain loops, and maps need fixed. I've said this before.
