Can we all agree that Deathslinger's nerf was too much, right?
First things first, Deathslinger wasn't even that strong, he was middle od the road at best, I don't see why this is enough for a nerf. And to top it off, they buffed a nurse addon to be extremely powerful in the same patch, i mean, nurse didn't need another buff but here we are.
The nerf was extremely heavy and he did not receive compensation in return. The nerf on the terror radious was probably the worst offender, why even do that? At least increase his speed to 4.5 to compensate.

I will not be playing him until they revert his quickscoping. I want the small TR back, but the quickscoping is what I played him for. Without it, he is a joke.

They just straight up nerfed, not even one minor buff, a weak killer. It was going to be too much regardless of what they did without any sort of compensation. He needed a rework, not a gutting.

Why even bother playing him? Trickster does what he does, but better, easier, and more forgiving.

Even if his nerf was justified (I do think the quickscoping was a little dumb combined with his tiny TR), he needed buffs to compensate because he wasn't a good Killer.

Of all the killer terror radiuses, his made the least amount of sense. How you gonna have a ranged killer with normal movement speed and have a terror radius that's practically non existent until he's in range to shoot you. Hated him since launch so whatever nerf he got, he deserved it

No he deserved every nerf he got. But he should have gotten buffs to compensate. Like shorter reload and a shorter cooldown to missing. Maybe a longer chain to compensate for a bigger terror radius while also increasing chain durability.

Respectfully, it doesn't matter.
He moves at 110% movement speed or 4.4 m/s. That's the same as Hag, Spirit, Huntress and Trickster.
For further context, I believe Plague moves at 110% when holding her vomit, Pyramid Head also moves at 4.4 when laying down his Torment Trails and Billy has an add-on that makes him move at 110% (for some reason).

I misspoke when I said "normal" movement speed so let me rephrase.
He should move Nurse speed if he's going to have a terror radius that small or be able to quick scope. Moving at Spirits speed is still too fast for him having a small terror radius and a ranged attack.

huntress and trickster have the same terror radius as old slinger and all 3 move at the exatc same speed. And it would be insane to slow down these killers for nurse's speed because there are tiles that are literally impossible to play with just M2. and again he wasn't even that good

Honestly, for lack of a better word, his scoping is very clunky. Its definitely not as smooth as playing huntress. I think it needs to be reduced by just a fraction so that its a little cleaner to move in and out of ADS without necessarily allowing for a pure 'quick scope' playstyle. I really hope the devs were erring on the side of caution here and are willing to meet the community halfway.
As far as the terror radius increase, I feel like it should have come with an increase of movement speed to 115%. With plague and now artist in this category of ranged killers with full movement speed I think he would be alright, and it would compensate for the increased possible awareness of the survivors. Alternatively, reduce his terror radius and just give him a lullaby like Huntress or Trickster.

The Terror Radius nerf is uncalled for, the biggest issue he has is the whole Quick Scoping mechanic.
His range is very limited, unlike Huntress, or Trickster; so the reduced Terror Radius helps him get close enough to at least get a better change at using his power effectively. The Killer lacks map pressure, so by nerfing the few good about Slinger, he just simply is too weak.

And then someone mentioned Trickster and that's another killer who I think has a power that's way too oppressive in chase and who deserves to be slower because his power needs little to no skill to down someone with like 10 knives (or whatever the number is, i don't care enough to know the exact numbers)

They just took away every aspect of Deathslinger that made him good. Should've just nerfed ADS and left everything else alone.

No, not everyone agrees at all. I've heard from plenty of survivor mains that the really good Deathslinger mains were gonna be totally fine, the nerf wouldn't even impact him and that only the people that use him to win easy in chase cause they have no skill would be the ones impacted and they would have to move to Trickster. I'm still looking for those Deathslinger mains to see how they're doing now tho

This isn’t Call Of Duty..
His Quickscoping was really annoying at Windows/Pallets and there was no counterplay when he did that. So if you ask me, it’s better that he got nerfed cause nobody liked playing against him.

All he needed was to give him a cooldown between exiting scope and attacking, but they killed quickscope, which is where most of his skill was in

I don't know how good or bad he is currently, but I do like playing him less since his turning speed while aiming is so slow. (Prior to the nerf you could turn while moving and then do an instant shot in the direction you're facing. Now if you want to change the direction of your shot you have to turn while aiming which feels like swirling in slime.)

Trickster is easy to deal with, just zigzag when he'a throwing knife, holy #########, it's like Pyramid Head all over again

The fact that they nerfed him without ANY compensation seems incredibly dumb. He is not Nurse, not even Oni, and wasn't even close to them. He essentially has no 1v4.
Their argument about Monitor and Abuse being too strong on him was a joke, too. I was a slinger main before these changes, on higher ranks, Monitor and abuse worked once, and never again. STBFL was always much better. Once a survivor calls out your monitor, it never gave me value again.
Then again, if they want more consistent terror radiuses, I think making it standard 32m is fine. Kinda makes no sense, because he is a 110% killer, but let's say it's because his 1v1 is quite strong.
But by removing the quickscope they killed deathslinger, and by killed I'm not saying "he is unplayable" or "he is so weak it's impossible to win a match". No. What I mean, is that this is a new killer. The point of Slinger for me was quick scoping. Quickly react to survivor movements and mistakes. Now this part of him is gone, so I have no reason to play him ever again. He just looks pathetic now.
Also, I wanna emphasize, that on higher ranks survivors could play against me. It's a different playstyle since as a survivor you were forced to fool slinger to miss a shot and then use the reload time to gain distance and not the usual "the killer has to mindgame me" playstyle.
Change my mind, but it felt to me that the survivors were crying so loud about him that They just decided to nerf him. I was shocked.
If they really want to keep him like this, I hope they add some "ultra-shot", where he shoots his riffle unlimited range and can reel himself into anywhere, giving him some kind of pressure like Freddy's or demo's teleport. I still wouldn't play him, but at least it would seem fair.

- He has like 70 knives so zigzagging only helps so much.
- Pyramid head's issue wasn't his power. It was the fact that he could use it to zone you and then had NO delay (or a very small one) between dragging his sword on the ground and picking it up and using his m1 so he didn't have to commit to anything

Trickster has 44 knives. Honestly if he still had his old 60, 70 with the brown knife pouch I'd still play him quite a bit.

Deathslinger's nerf was indeed far too much. I'd just bought him, played him a couple times, got destroyed mostly but had fun using his power, then whoops! Here's a massive, system nerf that guts his whole deal, despite him being far, FAR away from S or even A tier.
It was an arbitrary, spiteful thing and also the last straw. I quit playing and haven't been back. With the folks in charge of the game currently, you're just going to keep seeing more and more of these kinds of "out of left field and for no good justification" nerfs, all in the name of some nebulous, arbitrary "counterplay" or "oppressive" buzzword-laden 'New Balancing Initiative.'
Because it's on the killer to perform perfectly, but they ALSO have to be throttled under layers of poor controls and nerfs to give survivors ample opportunity to negate the killer's whole deal. That 1v4 power role doesn't feel very powerful when their character feels like he's moving in wet concrete.

DeathSlinger is done for. The devs don't have a backbone to admit their mistakes and at-most anytime in the future he'll get an add-on buff... I'm being generous.

I loved deathslinger and was nearly a main of mine, I played him once since the nerf (2 weeks ago) and it was the worst experience i've ever had, none of my shits were further than 7 meters away, he is slow, really unenjoyable to play, doesn't feel right, it's a real pain, never hated a killer I used to love as much as I do now, thye really need to revert everything they did, the only positive is the stun when breaking the chain, which is a nice buff, but everything else is just an extra nail in his sealed coffin

you can't snipe anymore, try to do 16 meters shots with that 0.4 seconds, it's impossible, they see you aim and they have all the time to move, the quickscope was the only thing that allowed him to do snipes, it's impossible now.

If you played a single game of deathslinger you'd realize how hard it actually was to hit a quickscope but you've clearly never played the character your talking about so why give a opinion on something you know nothing about?

It's literally easily provable. I don't have to make up things and even though i don't owe you proof, I can ALSO show you that I've got the adept achievement on the killer you claim I've never played (and every killed aside from the newest 2) which any killer main can tell you that getting that double pip isn't always easy for a number of reasons.
