Honestly, It's really damned fun, whether you're playing killer or survivor.
You need to ignore the people on the forums (me included). They moan and whine about every little thing that they don't like and request heavy buffs or nerfs to things they like & dislike.
I would avoid the forums entirely for an opinion and would instead hop into a match and have a go, killer is getting easier with every patch so just go nuts if thats your preferred thing
Or hop into a survivor match and drag your nuts across the ground as a killer stands there watching you in the exit gate too stubborn to push forward on their keyboard.
In all seriousness, just hop in, have some fun.

Survivor is great. Win some, lose some. It could be better but I wouldn't say it's bad at all.
Killers are doing ok.
I'm Still pretty annoyed at SWF, but hey, if you're into masochism, go for it.

Still fun as heck.
Some changes to get used to depending how long you've been gone for but overall still just as addictive, and (imo) a bit more balanced/fun on both sides.But then again, you're asking the forums. So prepare for the mass "Garbage, 0/10, worst game ever!" from people who continue to play thousands of hours.

If you look for a compteitive game, dont even bother. If you just wanna have some fun and troll around, sure give it a try its not that much to download

Fun as hell, generally speaking.
There's talks of an end game rework, and a DS rework, and if that happens, this game could go from pretty damn fun, to amazing.

ive experienced it myself, where i did nothing but writing down the definition of "asymetrical horror game" and got 3 LOLs on it... like, no one ever said sthg against it in the comments, as they probaply knew it was right (you can literally google it and would find my definition), but still LOL rated the post...
i just wish they'd at least say something in the comments.1 -
