Boon totems so strong that they make certain perks useless?

Why would I want to use Self care when COH? Why would I want to use perks like Distortion when I have Shadowstep? When you light the boons, make it like Freddy's wake up action on survivors when they snap and wake each other up. I really feel like this would be fun on both sides, and honestly I personally like boons and think they can be fun for both sides if balanced correctly. Thoughts? No arguments from a killer or survivor main I enjoy both sides :)

    Fun fact!

Even if you are in Shadowstep's range (which blocks all aura-reading), you still lose Distortion stacks!

Yea it's just stupid to me. I love the concept of course! But man....it should never make other perks completely useless. I never actually knew that though, that is horrible! 🤣

Circle of Healing I agree is really powerful. Shadowstep is more limited because of its range and the fact the killer can snuff it out if they hear/see it. I can definitely see situations where you'd possibly want Distortion versus Shadowstep if only because Distortion works everywhere.
