New Item idea: Flare Gun

The Flare Gun is an item than can stun Killers by shooting at them. It can interrupt some of the killer's actions and stuns them only for a few seconds, leaving a cloud of red smoke after a successful hit. It requires a direct headshot to make it work, or else this thing can be literal waste. It was very effective against 4 killers like The Oni, The Hillbilly, The Cannibal and The Legion, which can interrupt their speed boost abilities. The Flare gun only has one charge, it will be depleted after used in one shot.

How to use (PC): Just like how the Deathslinger used his rifle, Press the 'Use Item' (Right Click) button to aim. And press the Action button (Left Click) to fire. Be careful for using it because that the Flare gun range is rather short.

Default Range: 12 Metres / Default Stun Time: 4 seconds / Default Flare Flight speed: 6.0m/s

Rarities:

  • Flare Gun - Rare Item (5-10% Chance finding on chests)
  • Millitary Flare Gun - Very Rare Item (3-6% Chance finding it on chests)

Add-ons:

  • (Common) Buck Shot: Increases Flare's flight speed by 10%.
  • (Common) Flash Powder: Increases Stun Duration by 10%.
  • (Uncommon) Magnesium Powder: Increases Flare Gun range by 2 metres.
  • (Uncommon) Long Fuse: Increases Flare's Flight speed by 15%.
  • (Uncommon)Gun Powder: Increases Stun Duration by 20%.
  • (Rare) Black Powder: Increases Flare Gun range by 4 metres.
  • (Very Rare) Small Sachet: Adds 1 extra Flare when the trial starts.
  • (Very Rare) Army Pack: Increases Stun Duration by 30%.
  • (Ultra Rare) Soldier's Belt: Adds 2 Extra Flares when the trial starts, Disables the killer's abilities for 15 seconds after being hit by the flare.

Background:

  • After seeing Mooks that he did some good ideas on those item ideas, why not helping him out? This idea was from a certain game that was somehow related to DBD: Identity 5.

Perks: Due to the additional Item, Perks now received new buffs and functions for killers and survivors.

  • Enduring: Reduces Pallets and Flare gun Stun duration by 40/45/50%.
  • Nemesis: Survivors will become the obsession and receive the effect after they stunned you with the Flare gun.
  • Franklin's Demise: Loses 1 charge after survivors drops it from your attacks.
  • Mad Grit: Survivors who hits you with the Flare Gun does not drop the carried survivor, only pauses both your movement and the survivor's wiggling phase for the stun duration.
  • Built to Last: Hiding inside a Locker for several seconds while carrying a depleted Flare Gun will replenish its Charges. Including the number of flares you have with attachments.

Tome Challenge:

  • Stun the killer using the Flare gun 3 times.

    Instead of giving survivors a GUN to shoot the killer, how about a Flaregun item that just works like a regular flare gun

    You shoot it into the air and everyone can see the explosion. You use it to alert the other survivors that, I don't know, the killer is near you and it's safe for them to work on gens. Or to get the killer's attention on you so you can play sacrificial lamb for your team.

    Oh wait, there's already SWF comms to relay that info without needing perks or items. And flashlight clicking to harass killers into chasing you.

    No. On-demand stun item would be absurdly insanely beyond overpowered. The Ultra-Rare is literally game-breakingly overpowered, on top of every other add-on being already disgustingly overpowered for an already disgustingly overpowered item. There is literally no way you can seriously think that any of this is even remotely balanced. Let me have whatever you're taking.

    As fun as the item seems.....no killer's don't need another way to get harassed by survivors. Look how much issues the flash light causes, imagine being able to just flat out stun lock a killer for literal minutes between a pallet stun, to a flare gun stun, then follow it into a blind? Now let's add in the locker stuns.....and you now have made perhaps the most toxic swf, hell even solo survivor builds humanly possible. Specially since you made a perk to gives them infinite ammo by just hiding in a locker. Then you let it completely negate a killers powers for 15 seconds for just 1 add on....what? Also the stipulation of "head shot".....you realize that isn't that hard right? Since you can line it up with a pallet stun? Adjatha's is a bit more balanced.
