1M Bloodpoints cap needs to be removed
why is the limit 1M?, what's their explanation?, because it doesn't make sense
yesterday I had 999K before the trial, and I got ~150K BP after the trial but lost 99% of it because of the 1M DEV limit.
this made me wonder why they have it in the first place, because it doesn't make sense from a programming point of view. they are using unsigned Integers (32bit or 64bit) to store the BP value, and a 32bit unsigned integer can store up to 4,294,967,295 BP, and a simple 64bit number can store up to 2^64 - 1 BP.

Not really removed, there is a reason for it.
If there would not be any cap, you would have players with maxed killers / survivors same day it was released. This way you are kinda forced to play DBD to unlock it, which is what they want.
But I agree it should be higher, maybe like 2M would be nice and it would make more sense with new grade rewards.

They need an artificial cap to make you actually spend it, instead of just hoarding it until you can power level a character.

IMO they should increase it at base and increase it further by 100k BPs for each Level of Devotion. This way the 2 Million for Grade Reward also make sense.
(You can go over the Cap, but you either have to play without receiving BPs after games OR have to spend them immediatly)

Earning and spending 6 million BP or hoarding up to 6 million BP have the same amount of playtime.
If you're that dedicated to maxing out characters, you're already in and probably don't need subtle manipulations to make you play more.

If i don't have the perks i want on the killer i want to play as, i'm not going to play that killer till i get them. this reasoning is unjustified.

That's not really how this works...
This would work only if you were not spending for anything else.
Cap is forcing you to play for longer duration whenever new chapter is released.

That still happens anyways. Just not in terms of prestiging but for those who don't prestige at all they basically get them max right away anyways.

If this is why the cap remains, then this is bad reasoning on BHVR's part. I'll play a couple games with a new killer just to see what they're like, and then I'll play other killers who actually have perks to earn BP and unlock stuff on the new killer. After Artist came out, I spent the last couple months not playing her at all while I earned BP to unlock her perks. (Yes, I had a lot banked in the Tomes and what not, probably a million or two BP, but when RNG is a ######### then I'm still left without the perks I want.) Now that I've unlocked the perks I want on her, I don't feel like playing her anymore.
So... yeah. I've noticed I often don't see new killers as much as I used to. A new killer will drop and I'd never know it from my survivor matches, I hardly see the new killer at all.

If you have all perks to get everything without prestige costs around 6 875 000 BP on a killer and 7 700 000 BP on a survivor.
So good luck with that. You need a lot of challenges saved for this and it's not possible to do it each chapter -> not enough challenges.

You know what I mean. They'll get all the stuff they want. It's not like they make more money from it. The most likely reason atm for it is just because they're to lazy to change a couple numbers. Right now. It's a F2P type of BS. And currency limits are also dumb in even F2P games.

I wouldn't mind cap removed and this is just only reason I can think of why there would be a cap.
It wasn't there since start, was it? Maybe someone old school knows better.
Another reason is that they force players to play more each new chapter, so you basically gain more data on new killer and new perks faster, because lot of players are trying to grind it asap.

Not many people are playing that much of the new chapters though. There are no more Artists or Pinheads. Maybe that was the reason back then but the reason for it STAYING in the game is most likely just laziness.

But I didn't play against the new perks when I played survivor because nobody was playing the new killer. And I didn't play with the new killer's perks because I didn't use the new killer. When I played (which I hardly did, because I didn't want to play the killers I was burned out on so I've barely touched the game since The Artist was released) I played with old killers using very old perks (my loadout is Distressing, Beast of Prey, BBQ, and Lightborn).
So, your statement is the opposite of what I said in my post you're responding to. There's no testing because nobody's using the perks. Not just the killers, either. I can count on my hands the number of times I've seen Jonah since his release.
If I had to use the new characters to level them up, that'd be one thing. But I don't.

People almost have this anyway, those who take the time to save challenges on the tomes and redeem on the-day of release get them to P3 in 30 minutes and then just have to grind a little to max, survivors don't matter in the slightest as you can level 40 them and unlock the perks on someone else and same thing.

Not going to lie, I am always confused when people whine about the grind and then ignore that ludicrous cap. I would be happier with a bump on the cap than removing perk tiers, to be perfectly honest.
The reason they do it is so we can't trick out our waifu day one. But 1 million has only gotten more absurd has time has gone on. I have literally never seen a game with a more nonsensical cap relative to what your earn or how much you need. This is a meme or something to the developers and I think it is even more humorous to them because people are so complacent about it.

It's crazy that you literally just ignored everything I said.
You can 100% P3 a killer day one, you can also get almost every perk on a killer day one because you don't have to P3 them to max them, additionally survivor is even more so irrelevant because all survivors are the same, so you only need level 40.
If they're worried about players P3ing then it can be done hands down, day one, if they're worried about players Maxing all perks, it can be done almost day one, on top of the incoming monthly 2m bloodpoints it will absolutely 100% be possible to max characters on their release from this day forth as you can stack monthly reset rewards past the 1m bp.

it increases player engagement over a longer period of time just like dailies, season passes, rank resets, monthly rewards, timed events and all the other gimmicks online games use
So you can't just hoard BP and disappear, you're "encouraged" to stay engaged and to keep playing.

3 million would be reasonable I think. In a new chapter you need a lot more than that to get new characters to lvl 40 first, then get the new perks on all other survivors and killers, then start getting all perks on the new characters I mean 3 million is not even close to what you need, but it would be a start. 1 million is nothing.

Not necessarily true. I've lost my interest in every mobile game I've tried because of these sorts of tactics. They get a little of my time and none of my money before I just kind of forget about them.
Because of the grind, I've barely touched Pinhead or Artist. I had to play other killers to earn the Bloodpoints to level them up, and I didn't feel like playing other killers, so I didn't play at all. I have perks unlocked on them, now, but I've just lost all interest in playing them.
Instead of DbD, I'm mostly playing Dying Light and spending my money on their DLCs. There's no artificial grind that prevents me from enjoying their content.
