Possibility of BT Basekit
In the latest Q&A stream, when asked the question, "Will we ever see basekit BT or DS to counter tunneling and camping?"
They answered: "We have no plans to make DS basekit." When asked again, they re-iterated they are only confirming that DS will not be basekit.
Obviously this implies that they are at least considering basekit BT.
Thoughts?

You can only discuss something like that IF there are actual plans AND we know what should happen exactly. They can also just introduce a 5 second Endurance at base and change the Perk to something entirely different, which would be a Buff for camping overall. Just as an example.
Sadly he phrased it that way, now Killers will flood the Forums that the game will be dead soon™ and that Killer will become unplayable because of "BT Basekit"...

Huh. On the one hand, I don't mind it as an anti-camping measure, but on the other hand, I don't like it as a free pass for survivors to stack even more meta perks. And it just makes 'bodyblock the killer from attacking the unhooker' that much more of an issue.

If this is coming with several killer buffs then I'm ok with it, the only issue is that Behavior don't have the best track record for making changes in the best interest of killers.

I hate BT as well, but I'm willing to see how to buff solo que survivors in order to level the playing field with SWF. That is the only way they'll be able to properly buff killers without destroying the game. Right now, they balance around solo que where they should balance around SWF.

So long as some changes to how BT works were made, I'd be okay with it. Body blocking for the protection hit, for instance, would need to go.

That said, I wouldn't mind some sort of lesser BT basekit, as long as killers get some sort of buff in return. I'd love to not have to camp and tunnel in some matches.

If they nerf BT respectably...then they could possibly make it basekit so that other perks can shine.

BT is a perk you always want whoever unhooks you to have, but you have no control over that, and that's dumb. It should be basekit; buff Killers if necessary to compensate.

I'm a killer only player and I'm totally ok with the idea of Borrowed Time being base kit, provided that if they make that change they also compensate to keep the overall balance from shifting too much, say by slowing gens down a bit. I get the idea of why they're apparently considering Borrowed Time as a base ability, it's to make it less likely that survivors get hooked two or three times in a row which obviously isn't all that fun for the survivor on the receiving end. But if they did that change totally on its own it would probably be kind of a disaster balance wise, so it really would need to be paired with a change that makes up for it for the kill rates.

as long as they make survivors intangible while they are under it's effect, I'm fine. but I wouldn't be surprised if they split the difference and make 6 seconds of BT base and the perks just gives another 6 seconds.

It wouldn't bother me even as a killer main. Killers need to learn other ways to get kills instead if tunneling.

It would likely be a survivor nerf as you usually have to respect BT anyways, but I doubt it would be 12 seconds basekit. Maybe it would got to 8. And that is really easy to play around for tunneling purposes. DS is WAY better which is why they aren't even vaguely considering it.

It was incredibly obvious that the unspoken message was “we are looking at making BT basekit”. Doesn’t mean it will happen, but don’t be surprised if it does because they are at least discussing and maybe starting to work on testing it

I agree with this. I’m fine with disincentivizing tunneling if we can also remove a big reason why killers tunnel, which is the imbalanced state of the game. Give killers some buffs to compensate and I’m also fine with built-in anti-tunnel

BT is an extraordinarily strong perk, it should not just be basekit.
this would literally just encourage even more players to mindlessly unhook right in the killers face, because they wont be punished for it anyway.

Thats literally not a fair argument. Because people will still tunnel past bt. Well actually depends.... cause actual tunneling is focusing on ONE person to get them out of them game, the "going after any unhooked person" feels like a cope mechanism for people.

Honestly it gets rid of me being farmed off hook despite me bringing borrowed to help others. Always hurts to not have the favour returned. So i see this as mostly good as i respect bt anyway.

The issue with making BT basekit isn't that having BT basekit would be too strong.
The issue is that it basically just adds a 5th perk slot for survivors, and another second chance is going to be rammed into that space every time.
