Lore:
During the entities seasonal 'purges', pustula flowers bloom and wither all over the realm, making a powerful mutating serum that few can effectively obtain. It is during this time that the vegetation in the fog is at its most abundant, with pustula's blooming from immense trees, weeds and pumpkins. One such pumpkin however, was different from the others, even to the entities' surprise.
It is unknown what conditions the pumpkin was under to make it transform in such a way, even those more keen on the realm's secrets can only surmise; perhaps it grew over the dead or dying soul of someone in the fog? Perhaps it was just sheer luck? Either way the resulting creature was impressively terrifying.
It seems as though a particularly large pumpkin growth received an overdose of pustula serum during the entities purge. This resulted in a massive, sentient pumpkin creature capable of sprouting out other pumpkins as well as thorny vines, and even generating its own deadly spores. To those that have been in the fog the longest, the mannerisms of the plant even seem to mimic the entities own sadistic amusement - perhaps a fraction of the being was infused into the pumpkin during the purge?
Like a weed, The Overgrown's primitive yet surprisingly aware mind merely seeks to choke out and overgrow other life forms. The entity, whilst being surprised at a new malicious being created within its own realm, allowed the creature to join its ranks as a servant.
Appearance:
NOT MY IMAGE - JUST HELPS VISUALISE - Would be a large central Jack o lantern with teeth and then smaller head pumpkins on either side.
The Overgrown is a giant plant monster. With a huge pumpkin for a head, sharp teeth and a jack o lantern face, accompanied with large oval leaves as a frill around the neck. It walks on 4 legs made of wiry but thorned vines. It then has two smaller pumpkin heads with teeth that act as arms / attacks (for weapons).

M2 - Killer sprout
- Hold M2 to throw a sprout on the ground, a small pumpkin ai that will grow after a few seconds and then sit in place. When a survivor comes within range, the sprout will wake up and chase them, revealing them to the killer and able to injure if they get close enough
○ They are slow however, and so are used more for spotting and in combination with the bramble stun/ movement boost.
○ Survivors can kill them with pallets and flashlights
○ Can place up to 5
CTRL - Bramble blast
- Press CTRL whilst looking at any highlighted sprouts to detonate them (individually)
- Holding CTRL and looking at multiple Sprouts before releasing will detonate as many as selected
- Detonating them causes a small explosion that will stun survivors for 1 second, leaving a growth of brambles that boost the movement speed of The Overgrown and it's sprouts when walked over.
Addons WIP
Perks:
Introducing a new type of perk similar to Hex and Boon called Pustula that places multiple interactable pustula flowers on the map for the killer
Pustula: Adrenal catalyst
Start the trial with 5 pustula flowers spawned. Interacting with the pustula flower grants a burst of movement speed for 5/6/7 seconds. Survivors can find and destroy up to 3 of the pustulas by interacting with them like a totem
Pustula: Photosensors
Start the trial with 5 pustula flowers spawned. Interacting with the pustula flower will reveal all survivors for 2 seconds within a 20/30/40 meter range. Survivors can find and destory up to 3 of the pustulas by interacting with them like a totem
Deep Roots
Survivors who rescue another survivor from a basement hook suffer from the Exhausted and blindness status effect for 20/30/40 seconds
Cosmetics:
Thorny rose - rose flowers instead of pumpkins, and more delicate curved thorns all over the body
Flytrap - heads replaced with Venus fly trap, rest of body is covered in wiry vines instead of thorny roots
Eden - Heads replaced with large golden apples, roots and body is more green with little white flowers and olives speckled around
Christmas - Mistletoe - Pinecones replace the pumpkins, and the body is now covered in pine needles, a wreath around the central head and mistletoes scattered around
Recolours - Normal recoulours - Gourd (yellow), Eggplant (Purple), Tomato (red), Melon (Green), Rotten (black / grey)
Mori:
The Overgrown slams its front legs into the ground, which erupt at a survivors feet as thorny roots, tangling them and knocking them down. The overgrown walks over and leans in front of the survivors head, vomiting a seed into their mouth. The grown pumpkin sprout then bursts out of their chest, killing them.
