Shouldn't a 4K give an iri devout emblem?
Am a little confused. Does a survivor not getting rescued actually count against you?

The emblem system is not just about your performance. As a ranking system it was also changed many times to encourage players to play in a more engagin way for both teams and essentially have a better, less toxic match in order to rank up.
As such, camping people to death prevents you going higher than a gold devout emblem and harms your malicious score as well. Iridescent Devout requires a 4k but also requires a second condition of at least 9 hooks.

If survivors are actually bad enough, you can sac 1 of them quick and farm other 3.

Lore-wise The Entity doesn't care so much about the sacrifices itself, but for the eroding and slowly desolving of hope, be it the survivors that they yet die again, or the Killer who completed yet another, pointless sacrifice.
Most, if not all, will eventually burn out and lose all hope, only to be discarded by The Entity and be replaced by new ones.
I can tell you that Hillbilly is pretty close to losing his last sliver of hope, as are the Twins, and Jake and Quentin might also be on their last leg, judging by how often they embarc on a trial. Feng, Claudette and Meg, though are so high spirited, they might be the first ones that would just not be broken. Which intrigues The Entity to no end, compelling it to send this three on even more trials and tribulations.
