Honestly an easy fix to the Boil over thing.
Just add hooks in the higher places that make the perk impossible 😂

This would be nice, but it seems that map changes take a lot of work from BHVR's side. It took them literally years to fix the spots where downed survivors couldn't be picked up from.
It would be much simpler to remove the wiggle increase on a fall. The perk would be about as useless as it is currently, but at least wouldn't allow survivors to grief.
Honestly, just change the perk to something else that is both useful and enjoyable.

"Let's nerf a useless perk." Not even a straw man, sadly... You literally said it.

I'll just say it here, since I don't wanna make a post about it.
On second floors, add one or two hooks that come from the ceiling. They can't be sabo'd, since they come from the roof, and they invalidate those "unhookable spots" with boil over.

If it's useless, then nerfing it has a net zero effect, and is really easy to do - right?
'Fix maps' isn't realistic. If they were going to, it would have been done already.

Not that Boil Over was ever gonna be meta but I find it funny how we (we meaning the community) complain about the meta and everyone running the same perks, but when useless perks get buffed (and are still meme worthy), we immediately want to nerf them to ensure that the meta never changes and no one is ever incentivised to run other perks.....

I would agree if it were actually useless. I do not really believe that, however. That being said, what do I care? I do not even own the perk.
I suppose you aren't wrong, but you never know. Changing circumstances might just be what Behavior needs to address the genuine problems with this game that will linger if and when Boil Over is addressed.

Again, sometimes you have to be pragmatic.
The chances of BHVR fixing hook spawns on multiple maps in a reasonable timeframe aren't even worth considering. Again, there have been even worse problems with maps (actual infinites, exploits etc.) that took forever to fix. Some maps (RPD, Badham, Swamp) already have janky hooks.

Buffing bad perks in good ways is not only welcomed, but often encouraged. Kindred and Windows of opportunity are great examples where their improvements were both healthy and meaningful enough to be considered worth using.
Boil over isn't that. Arguably neither is DMS (granted that issue has more to do with the gen speed argument, but thats a different topic.) If you take a bad perk and buff it in a way that its still only mediocre in normal use, but extremely exploitable at its worst... thats awful game design.

I just wanted a buff like - you wiggle 3/6/9% faster with boil over...

Would be easier to change the perk than to change every map. Imagine redoing every map just to deal with a problematic perk instead of just changing the perk. The maps should get redone, but, like, that takes a long long time and a hell of a lot more dev effort than just changing the numbers again.

But honestly, even on plane ground they can wriggle off if the hook is slightly middling away. I mean this would be okay, if a single bodyblock or sabo wouldn't make it sorta 100%.
And the elevation bonus is just the grapefruit sized cherry on top. Even on plain ground I might slug the survivors, if I have no hook in the immediate vicinity, because I lost a good few survivors on the way to normally save hooks.

People want the meta changed. Adding to the meta doesn't change anything about it. To change a meta you gotta do both give AND take, meaning the current meta for both sides needs weak/underused perks buffed and strong/overused nerffed.

These takes are always weird to me. When people complain about OP perks ruling the meta, they mean they want those perks toned down in some way so they aren't meta anymore. They don't mean that they want even worse and more obnoxious stuff made that changes the meta by being even more busted than the stuff people complained about. That's power creep, and it kills games.
It really sounds like you are missing why people have an issue with the perk. It also seems odd to bring up the whole meta argument when admitting the perk isn't ever going to be meta. No one thinks boil over is a good perk now. It's simply an extremely obnoxious and unfun one now. The person who uses it may not increase their chances of winning but they sure increased their chances of upsetting the other side

Boons are not unhealthy because some people don't have the skill to play around them. All 3 of them are fine.

It's only trolling if I'm joking. The same thing happened with self care when it was the most used meta survivor perk years ago. When everyone cried about self care until the perk got gutted to the point where no one ran it anymore, then guess what happened after that. Well if you were here at the time you know that survivors eventually stopped healing themselves and started playing injured and then the new complaint was "gen rushing" and the birth of the DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, and whatever 4th perk (Iron Will or BT mostly)
Now people want to complain because survivors have a decent healing perk again (and a decent meme wiggling perk).... it's a cycle that's going to lead back to the same perks being used because nothing else is worth using

tough we'd need multiple hooks guaranteed in range, otherwise we got the same problem once someone got sacrificed up there.

I brought it up because the number of posts about this is ridiculous and overhyped. It's being talked about over and over as IF it was some new meta busting perk and it just isn't. The same thing happened with saboteur when it went through it's most recent change and survivors ran it for like a week or two and people came here complaining about toxic 4 man swf sabo squads OP and all this nonsense like it didn't have counterplay.
There are meta killer perks that are stronger and more annoying to deal with than the new Boil Over but we just have to deal with them (Pain Resonance is a pain in the ass, pun intended, new Dead Man's Switch) Boil over is easily weaker than both of those individually and definitely weaker than the two put together (especially in the hands of The Artist, Freddy, or any high mobility character like Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Demo with portals set up, etc)
I just find it weird people are even complaining about Boil Over at all but this is the DBD community so I shouldn't be surprised

Neither DMS or Pain resonance is remotely comparable to boil over nor are they very annoying at all. I exclusively play survivor now. Zero issue with the perks. DMS may be a little annoying at times against specific killers but comparing pain resonance is extremely bizarre. But, Again, two perks designed to win and used to win. One used to troll. The intent is the issue. Stop using boil over with specific intent to troll and people will shut up.

Shrug.
Every Fog Whisperer that has opined on them agrees. Boons are not fine, and there isn't really much 'skill' to countering them.
A boon in the RPD library covers half the map, and if you snuff it you're falling even further behind.
When basically everyone that plays a faction is complaining about something...maybe, just maybe, there is an issue with that thing?
Something to shake the meta up? Okay, I'm down for that.
People aren't complaining that Boil Over is a meta change. People are pointing out that it's unhealthy for the game, because it's easy to use it to completely hold a match hostage and force the killer to either DC or spend ages staring at slugs.
Pain Resonance...what? PR is a fine perk, but you have to pair it with Agitation to really get it consistent, and that's 1/2 your perks right there. Which is why it never really shook the meta - at that point you may as well go Pop (which is just one slot) or Ruin+Undying (which people are comfortable with).
There really isn't anything analogous to Boil Over in the killer perks. The closest thing you can compare it to is walling people into rooms they can't get out of and then going AFK.
And that's actually bannable.

Why is this post going off topic and we are now talking about boons? lol Boons are fine....I really like the Freddy idea towards them but it dont matter really.

Honestly I would replace the 25% thing with just a flat 10% faster wiggle speed. 1.6s off a wiggle isn't nearly as bad as how you can abuse boil over on specific maps. Just my two cents though, I doubt they change it beyond just a basic numbers change.

I read a good change recently and they basically said that the stun after wiggling free should be longer, rewarding you for wiggling out with those 100 % extra struggle effects.
