Genuinely asking what exactly changed?

So to just be as shameless as possible I watched a clip from an Q&A stream months ago. In the clip you were asked about specifics of the matchmaking system you were working on. You told us some details and also spent a solid 10-15 seconds just restating multiple times that it is not based solely on kills and escapes and you only were using that as a baseline while working on it. On top of that you even said the kill/escape system was internally tested and you thought it was bad enough to not make it to live. I’m not trying to be rude I’m really asking what changed between that point and the implementation of MMR. I apologize if this has been answered in another thread or in a previous statement I just don’t know.
