Dead by Daylight.... 2?
Hello,
considering there is a big announcement planned for Dec 6, just got me wondering how people would feel if it were an announcement for Dead by Daylight 2?
I for one, would be very sad. I have been grinding hard on this and would love to see DBD continue to be improved and have the character roster swell further, rather than having to start all over again and potentially see the player base split.
What about you?

Okay not going to lie if they didn't make dead by daylight so they better fix every single problem wrong with the game and everyone better get every single DLC character for free if they purchase the game plus the DLC if they purchased it. I'm pretty sure that gaming technology has evolved to the point that they can tell what we purchased1

Yes, make DbD2 with dedicated servers and allow us to port the data from DbD11

Wouldn't make a lot of sense since they just bought out SB for 15million and fully monetized the game with cosmetics.

I don't think they are announcing a DBD2 anytime soon since they still have far to go on their calendar. What I do think that they will be announcing is the next chapter. Maybe not a full reveal, but I think it will be teased.

I don't know if you just haven't been here long enough, but there are no plans for a "Dead by Daylight 2", or anything like that for the near or far future.

They've said in a stream that they plan to continue making content for DBD for atleast 4-5 years more before they think about a sequel to the game.

Well...if they wanted to basically did a 2.0 version where it's technically the same game but all the code and whatnot is afresh to sort out all limitations of the current?
Sure. But that would be a massive undertaking.

They already said that they are not going to make a "Dead by Daylight 2", they want Dead by Daylight to last for many years to come

If they honestly think "content packs" are going to keep this alive for 4-5 years before they "think" about a DbD2, they are delusional. MAYBE they try to support both games for 4-5 years, but 4-5 years in game technology is FOREVER. DbD simply doesn't have the depth to sustain itself that long.
Given how we haven't seen a new game mode, or many major changes to the gameplay itself, nor dedicated servers... I get the sense that the underlying code in the engine just isn't that good (which isn't surprising given its "indie nature" at development), and likely not equipped to handle big changes.
My guess is that they've got a small team already designing DbD2, and it will be out within 2 years.
Don't get your hopes up to have cosmetics and purchased things transfer to DbD2. The gaming community has proven OVER and over again that they're willing to re-purchase those things. Frankly, you bought it for DbD1, you used them, you "got your moneys worth". If you don't think that, then maybe avoid buying clothes for your digital dolls next time.
