What killers do you consider a "must-buy" for their perks?

I just switched over to PC, and I've got a long grind ahead of me. I also don't have a lot of money to spend, so I want to be thrifty over what killers I buy.

I'm already planning to buy Bubba, Clown, Legion, Hag, Doctor, Plague, and Artist for their perks, and Nemesis to main. Am I missing anyone? Is there anyone I listed you think I shouldn't buy?

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. if anyone knows what active BP codes I could use to make my grinding a little easier, that would be deeply appreciated :)

    "nice" for 69 bp

As for maining Nemesis, I can't really give any tips, but if Dead Man's Switch survives the next update then it could be worth investing in Deathslinger.

Priositise buying Bubba + Nemesis over the rest though, and save Artist for last. She's the most recent DLC so won't go on sale, or will go on less of a sale, than the rest when the Ringu chapter releases, so she'd be the original one to save the shards for. Doctor + Hag will be cheapest, alongside maybe Leg and Plague and Clown, but Clown onwards was when they began to increase the price of DLCs so idk.

Edit: Alternatively, if you have the funds to spare, just get the Killer Pack DLC + Bubba + Nemesis. Means you won't have to worry since the only licenced killer who's perks are worth a damn outside of Bubba is Mikey

I had to buy Freddy for his end game perks. After unlock his perks, I never touch him again.

I would also recommend Deathslinger for Dead Man's Switch. It's insane.

A fun alternative to BBQ is Thrilling Tremors from Ghostface. It also works pretty great with Pop Goes The Weasel.

Oh, also, get Pinhead and Trickster. Deadlock and No Way Out are actually incredibly strong perks, among the strongest Killer Perks in my personal opinion (not top 5 but both are like top 10).

Prioritise the licensed killers since you can't buy them with shards, and definitely start with Bubba for BBQ.

So should I wait until the Ringu chapter to buy anyone?

They usually put up sales with a new chapter, so I'd suggest waiting a bit. Work on the base Killers first.

i'd say go for Trickster instead of Doctor.

Docs only really decent Perk is Monitor & Abuse, which is far from being a must have, Overcharge is pretty meh and Overwhelming Presence is trash.

Trickster on the other hand has 3 very good Perks: Hex: Crowd Control is probaply the weakest out of the 3, but it is a very strong totem nontheless due to it essentially deleting loops that involve windows, Starstruck is very strong, but requires you to adept to its playstyle and No Way Out is so good that i think its a must have Perk.

out of the Killers you've listed, my priority list would be the following:

    1. Plague (2 amazing Perks, 1 decent one)
    2. Hag (2 great Perks, 1 meh one)
    3. Bubba (BBQ is amazing, everything else trash - depending on how bad the grind is for you, you might want to move him to first place just because of BBQ - but in terms of overall Perk value he is actually pretty bad due to the other 2 sucking)
    4. Clown (1 great Perk, 1 decent Perk and 1 trash Perk)
    5. Artist (1 great Perk, 2 trash Perks)
    6. Legion (1 good Perk, 2 trash Perks)
    7. Doctor (1 decent Perk, 2 trash Perks)

I always say this when this sort of thing comes up but you're better off spending your shard/cash on killers you actually enjoy playing than worrying about their perks. You'll get way more bang for your buck playing a killer you like than buying a killer you don't like playing but who has a perk that if you spend a ton of time leveling them up you might be able to use on another killer at some point if it shows up in their bloodweb.

the problem with that is that some killers are perk reliant, also BBQ = Bloodpoint = Good

So let's say you buy Bubba but hate playing him. How much time and money and bloodpoints are you spending just to buy Bubba, level him up to 35 just to unlock BBQ and Chili as a Teachable, and then spend how many more on another killer you like playing just to eventually, maybe, get BBQ and Chili to show up in that blood web? You're looking at spending literally millions of BP over that process, and for what? Bonus BP in your matches? It'll take dozens of matches using BBQ and Chili to make that up.

Or, you could just buy a killer you actually want to play and play them and spend your BP on that killer. You'll have a much better time, have leveled up a killer you enjoy, and in lieu of BBQ and Chili probably have some other perks you like instead.

I get what you mean. That's probably why I may save Hag for last or not buy her at all, and why I might not buy Micheal and Twins.

But for the really good perks, I may still buy.

By the way, I'm assuming you actually want to play Bubba based on your avatar. 😄 So you won't have to worry about unlocking BBQ and Chili I'm guessing.

    Bubba for BBQ.

    Plague for Corrupt.

    Clown for Pop and Bamboozle.

    Myers for STBFL.

    Deathslinger for Dead man's switch.

The only "must buy" killer in my opinion is Bubba. BBQ cuts the grind in half and it's a perk you simply can't pass by. Everything else is a matter of taste.

As someone said above I'd recommend focusing on licensed killers since original ones can be bought for free with shards.

    Here are some options:

    Hag - Ruin, Devour Hope

    Myers - STBFL

    Bubba - BBQ

    Spirit - Haunted Grounds

    Clown - Pop, Bambozlee

    Legion - Discordance

    Plague - Corrupt, Infectious

Ghostface - Thrilling Tremors, I'm All Ears

    Deathslinger - Dead Man's Switch

    Blight - Undying

Trickster - No Way Out, Starstruck

    Nemesis - Lethal Pursuer

    Pinhead - Plaything, Deadlock

    Artist - Pain Resonance, Pentimento

I listed the best and most meta perks from the killer side, but you should check to see if they fit your playstyle or check the wiki for descriptions.

It depends on what your goals are. You're going to need STBFL off of Myers if you wanna do Nemmy at high level. Hex: Plaything off of Pinhead is pretty huge slowdown combo with Scourge Hooks: Pain Resonance.

Could ultimately build out BBQ/Lethal - Pain Resonance - Plaything - STBFL sweaty or BBQ - STBFL & memeperks for fun.

Playing Nemmy you gotta run STBFL, it's kind of like playing Blight without Shadowborn. Feels kinda bad once you know what it is like having it.

Every time I break down and level up a killer for an unlockable, it shows up in the shrine the following week. Every. Time.
