Why is there no option to see the killers ping?
It's really not a fun game versing a killer using a VPN or just playing with bad net in general and it might lead to dodges but that should be allowed.

I have been seeing a lot of chinese high ping killers lately i dunno why they are coming to american servers aside from the clear advatage

I'm getting the same and also random EU players when I'm Oceania and no matter what you do you are 100% getting hit.

My only theory to this is that since the servers were Peer To Peer a long time ago there wasn't a reason to display killers ping as lobbies were always hosted by the killer so their ping would be 0. I don't know why they haven't added a way to see the killers ping as survivor yet.

Back in the day the Ping displayed actually mattered, since it showed the actual Ping to the Killer. Now, the Ping displayed to Survivors does not really matter. You can have Ping of 30 to the Server, does not matter if the Killer has a Ping of 200.
Since Hit Validation is so lenient (it has to be), they should really show the Killers Ping in the Lobby.

In my region, off-hour survivor usually takes several minutes. Lately, it's been more like 30 seconds for every game with a lot more overseas killers and survivors. Maybe BHVR is testing queue mechanics by allowing other regions to join instead of allowing lower/higher MMR to fill in the gaps. I'm not a fan of either, but it's a quick fix for long queue times.

If that was the case though I can understand some regions but having EU to my server is very illogical as they would be 280+ probably.

Because that wpuld ve a great QoL change, that's why.
(Or i guess people from certain countries without a server would have a harder time getting into a lobby because of their high ping)

I absolutely think survivors should be able to see killer ping. High killer ping above 60 affects gameplay pretty significantly and survivors should be able to make informed decisions about pathing, pallet drops, etc before they get hit from Narnia the first time.

this is why..

I want both sides to see each others ping. I am sick of getting people with 300 ping that teleport and bug out the game because it can't handle crap ping.
If you want to play with a swf buddie from the moon then you can sit there and wait for a killer that doesn't care. I had a game where one guy had 30 ping and the rest were over 200. it was horrible to play because they kept teleporting making it difficult to hit with Trickster.
Then you have the "aim dressing" issue that bugs out at 80 ping. It drags you into corners and makes lunging around objects difficult to impossible.

The only reason some of us have to use a VPN is because of the DDosing issues. I hate having higher ping as a killer but I also hate having my internet go down while I'm carrying the last survivor to the hook. My internet literally never goes down unless a game is 30 seconds from being over. Blame the ######### people who DDoS and make us use VPNs.

I live in Japan and I gotta tell you, even from here, going against players from China is like the worst thing I've ever experienced. You can never tell distances or why stuff hits it's always been like this. It's like everyone is playing a different game and it's seriously SERIOUSLY annoying. My friends and I went from playing this several times a week to barely playing at all because pings are always just out of control.

Its unfortunately really not something that can be prevented

Fun fact, if you live in Germany and VPN to Germany your ping increase will be marginal at best provided your VPN is halfway decent. Connecting near to the server location means you'll keep a good connection and not have to worry about the DDOSers

It can be self moderated if we could see ping.

Dont take my comment as me saying i am against the idea its just that players often lobby dodge for the dumbest things and it could just increase that happening if they cant find a solution that would help the server lag. Vpning should be something they can prevent but its also a useful tool in certain ways

Yeah it's really frustrating since you can't tell the distance and unfortunately it also doesn't matter that you vault or drop a pallet super early you're still gonna get hit regardless.
