Shards vs Auric cells

I would love to know how you guys decide which cosmetic will NOT be purchasable with shards? With the release of the Valentine cosmetics the only one which you can not buy is KATE and I would love to know why? You can even get ultra rare for Trickster but Kate? She has already 4? other outfits you can not buy with shards?


I understand that licence characters will need to be paid but why originals?

    I think it depends on who will probably sell the most or look the best.

    Until people keep buying those "Auric Cells only" cosmetics, they'll keep doing them

    Especially for popular characters, since more people will be willing to pay Auric Cells to buy an outfit for their favourite character, they'll do more "Auric Cells only" cosmetics

    It's not a coincidence that less popular characters have less outfits available

    They probably run the numbers and it shows those outfits without being shard purchasable still sell a lot.

    On a side note....is it just me or is the Free Part of the current Tome lacking alot of well prizes unlike older ones .... It just seems very empty for alot of the milestones.....

    The current Rift is for a licensed Chapter. Much of the content of each Rift relates to to characters being feature, so in this case, all of that content will have to be paid only. BHVR can't give away SAW related memorabilia for free.

    That's not what I mean though the last one for example for Trickster had stuff for him in the paid section but in the free section you could get parts to other killers and survivors and in the free section you could get a full Vommy Mommy outfit.....still pissed I didn't get the body part of it......the free section like I said seems very sparse compared to other Tomes. It seems like BHVR is trying to get people to buy the paid section by removing more of the freebies people can get.
