Good Killers
Are there actually any good killers out there that don’t have to rely on perks like Barbecue and Chilli to be great?

BBQ is mostly used for Bloodpoints. Seeing someone doesn't mean you are going to down them.

Good players know to use strong perks.

Barbecue And Chili doesn't even give that good info, unless you're playing Pinhead

BBQ OP?
This is a nostalgic complaint.

Was is busted before?

Hardly any, if any, killer “relies” on BBQ. There are killers that can make great use of it, but that’s not “relying on it”.
Lockers hide your aura, if you’re struggling with facing it. Make sure you enter one before the survivor is hooked, though, otherwise the killer will see you go in.

I attribute any success I have as killer to BBQ, never mind I usually don’t pay attention to the aura reading, all kills thanks to BBQ.

I typically don't run any information perks outside of Rancor unless I really want BP. The super high end killers don't run info perks, or more specifically, they don't rely on them. If the BP gain from BBQ was baseline, I'd never run it.

The bait is real with this one.
5 -
I guarantee you most people who run BBQ do so for the points. The information is just a bonus.
If the bonus bloodpoints weren't a part of the perk I wouldn't use it that much.

Sorry but if you a killer and need to see EVERY survivor once you hook someone then you are sad at this game. Way OP and ridiculous that you don't have to actually grind yo find another survivor without an aura reveal
1 -
I got used to playing without them from playing comp. Once you start paying super close attention and keeping track of gens, who you saw where, etc, you start to naturally keep track of that stuff. Really hard at first, but it pays off in the long run.
It's just putting pieces together the long way instead of having the aura shown. "X survivor was just saved, so 2 survivors are over there. That gen just popped, and I'm chasing Zarina." You know where everyone is at that point. Then after you hook Zarina, you know the two survivors that were hooked/rescued are most likely on a gen near their previous spot and the remaining survivor rotated from the completed gen. You've done 90% of the BBQ work already.

Nope, it was just that some people used to complain about BBQ back in the day.
Hadn't seen that in a while.

Underneath the entire catastrophe that is this post, I can kinda understand where your coming from here, but it's clear you aren't experienced enough to understand what perks are even good.

lmao

Sorry but if every survivor needs DH then you are sad at this game. Way OP and ridiculous that you don't actually grind to make that pallet/vault.
Sorry but if every survivor needs to spawn on the generator then you are just sad at this game. Way OP and ridiculous you don't have to grind to find ANY generator.
I can do this all day.

it never was a busted Perk, but due to the BP boni that help you fight the massive grind it has always been an extremely popular choice (at least once they added the stack system to it - in its original form BBQ just used to double all BP gains you got while someone was hooked, which wasnt very good), which has lead to many assume that, because it was used a lot, it must be extremely strong, hence the "BBQ OP!" threats were born.
though one thing to note would be that in the early days of BBQ, lockers did not hide a Survivors aura - so in a way the aura reveal used to be stronger in BBQs early days.

Even under that, there really isn't anything to understand coming from
BBQ & Chili is AT BEST a C-Tier perk when it comes to usefulness. Maybe. At peak performance.
Killers run it for the BP. Even in information gathering, there are multiple perks that are far better at it.

Jump in a Locker
Hide behind a gen
Walk one way turn and go the other way 4 secs
Stand there point and come here at the killer walk away 4 secs
There's perks you can use

He's complaining about meta perks which I agree with to an extent, BBQ for sure isn't meta, but the amount of Artist with DMS + Pain Resonance I've faced recently is really frustrating.

I typically run
The Clown and The Twins
Dark Devotion, Nemesis, Rancor, Trail of Torment
But to say I am a Good Killer is a laugh. I get speed run'd super easy by the Special Ops SWF's out there. BBQ & Chili never made sense to me, why do you need help when you're winning as Killer? Give me the info that Rancor gives so I can better adapt in a losing game instead, and a precious Finger at the end as a bonus of course *evil laugh*.

Okay and I can do this all day too. BBQ and chili is OP. Killers have a speed boost that is wildy ridiculous that NO survivor can outrun it. We have to mend ourselves in a chase or die, we have to take traps off our head sometimes 4-5 times. So yeah I fo think killers have some advantages that are just not fair or that should be powered down
0 -
You will never have to take 4 traps off your head.
2 -
False! I've had to try and attempt 4 times to remove a trap off my head so obviously you never played as a survivor
0 -
A pig can use all there traps on one poor soul 😂
0 -
They would be dead already most likely.
0 -
LOL. You mean you had to search four times....not remove 4 traps big difference there. Oh know I have to hold a button 4 times boo fuckety who bruh. Git gud
1 -
You never have to mend in chase because whilst you keep running your mend bar doesn't decrease for one thing.
3 -
But if they were slugged a lot it is possible.

And from a personal point of view, when playing Survivor I would rather the killer have information and chase perks rather than slowdown perks. Also giving location information so that the killer can leave the hooked survivor is far more preferable than the killer staying around the hooked area - so I'm perfectly fine with BBQ.
I also use it as a killer, that information can be very important for the flow of the game.
6 -
Well. They would have still have to remove each trap. Logically they would be dead or escaped well before 4 traps or bled out.

I'm just goofing around🤪

We all are if we still in this post. Good laughs OP gave me.

Yes some of the responses were quite amusing I do say so myself.

After playing this game some more you will go back and laugh at this post believe me. Since we survivors are stronger together than the killer, none of their perks are really OP. But BBQ it's mediocre they just use if for bloodpoints.
Practice pushing that button to hide in a locker when killer hooks someone. Try it just go to a locker and hide, get out and do it again. You will get the hang of it.

True but there are other tracking perks I like better than BBQ, I never use it personally.
0 -
Just a technical point, but your mend bar does decrease during a chase when you aren’t running, such as when you vault or drop a pallet. It’s rare but I’ve killed a few people with Legion just by following them and making them vault and drop pallets over and over.
0 -
No you haven't unless you're running Frank's mix tape. Or if you have, it's cost you five gens by the time they're down.
0 -
I have. I didn’t say it was a good strategy, I just said it has happened.

Literally, lol, it's like...so much counterplay

It decent for doc to find where to static blast next

A killer main can be great with or without BBQ, as a matter of fact people dont run BBQ as much as you would think and Corrupt is much more used than BBQ! Corrupt, Scourge Hooks and Pop are all used more than BBQ however BBQ is used more than the new Dead Mans Switch!

Congratulations on your very recent purchase of Dead By Daylight! We hope you'll enjoy the game and its wonderful horror dynamic and your matches in the Fog upcoming!
We're certain that as you begin to explore all of the different playstyles, you'll realize what is actually OP and what just seems to be to the brand new player (when I was brand new, I didn't even realize I was leaving marks behind me when I ran -- can you believe that?). Eventually, you'll get the hang of the game, though, and thrilling adventure awaits!
Sarcasm aside, BBQ is far from OP, and there are so many ways to counter it -- ways I learned as survivor in my first few weeks playing the game -- that even its tracking elements aren't as good as other perks (like Thrilling Tremors, for example. Even the new Dead Man's Switch gives tracking that can be comparable to BBQ now.)
It's stupidly easy to figure out when a killer has BBQ on, and even easier to play around it. If it wasn't for the BP, you'd see it on far fewer builds. Now that almost all of the killers I play regularly have all of the perks, I've yanked BBQ off of almost all of my killer builds, leaving it on only a couple for when I do need to farm for BP. In the current state of the game, having a perk slot that's dedicated half to BP farming is a recipe for losing matches.

My man... blood points are op
