Gates are powered but someone has a trap on their head. What do you do...

So just had a game and a message from a survivor who wasn't happy with my choice, which got me to wondering what you do in these situations. I wish there were polls in this forum (well there are but in it's own dedicated section that no one ever goes to) but I figure it would be an interesting discussion anyway

So for this particular poor bastard, they had an active trap on their dome and the last gen was completed. The other survivor gets forced out by The Piggy so it's just me and Beep Head left alive. I am attempting to escort them from box to box in the hopes that I can tank a hit for them if Piggy comes and they just have to hope that Fate is on their side and the few seconds me taking a hit would give them the time they need to get the head popper off.

First box goes, no box. Unfortunately for second box, this is when Piggy comes. Now in their defense and their unhappy message, I did attempt to take the hit but we were in swamp so I couldn't see Piggy and the survivor was in a spot where I was fat shamed (so I couldn't get past them so if I'm on their left and Piggy comes from the right, they're screwed). Based on the thump thump and where the Piggy's last known location was, I chose to be on the left side. I chose wrong. They messaged me after the game unhappy with me, saying that if I didn't intend to take the hit, I should have just left so they could at least try for the hatch...

TLDR/Question; If there are two of you left against Piggy in the EGC and one of you has an active Head Popper on, do you prefer your teammates to just abandon ship and give you a chance to get to the hatch. Do you prefer they try to Bodyguard you and dramatically yell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo if the Piggy comes while they are at a box and take the hit? Do you have a different plan that I'm not thinking of?

I love opening the gate as Pig in this situation. Bad piggy! 😋

You definitely should have left there, leaving it up to chance to get the trap off is never a good idea.

It depends. If there’s only 1 or 2 boxes left I might try to bodyblock like you did.

If there’s more than that I’d maybe try to get them healed first if they weren’t, but after that leave and give them a chance for hatch.

@tippy2k2 yea, you gotta leave bro. That’s their only shot. Even if you took TWO body blocks, they’ll still go after Beep head while you lay slugged on the floor. The chances of them getting the cage off on the first box AND you escorting them to the exit gate without them getting downed is very small. Like someone said above, she’s just going to patrol the boxes and she WILL run into you two. You won’t have time. You can’t even stealth past her because the cage beeps intensifies the longer its on.

I agree with pretty much everybody above. Just leave and hope your buddy can get hatch. Maybe be bodyguard if they're on their last box and you know that somehow. Otherwise? Just abandon ship.

Leave. Always leave....there will always be someone who don't though.

I leave. I have no responsibility to die with my teammates. Same thing I'm gonna do if the killer has NOED and is just camping around the hook. I'm outta there.

Did they have any chance to get the trap off before it activated, and simply didn't?

I'm on the side of leaving them to try to find the hatch. Piggy knows where the boxes are so clearly will patrol those with an active trap in play, so giving them the chance ot find the hatch is probably the better option.

I will try to take aggro for as long as I can, especially if I know the location of boxes etc. Watch the timer on both EGC and their trap, if I feel like there is no use, I leave then.

Leave to give them a chance to find the hatch. Pig knows where all of the boxes are, so it would be easy to guard them.
