The Mandela catalogue chapter
What if the Mandela catalogue was in dbd? I think that would be pretty cool to have an alternate that can turn into different survivors. This could be challenging to implement because of how the survivors rely on teamwork and if you get an alternate in your match then you have to abondon your instincts and just think 'trust no one'.

"Hey Meg, teabag now... Oh she's not teabagging, the killer is pretending to be Meg."

Unfortunately SWF would make doing something like this impossible, but I do love Mandela Catalogue and analog horror in general.

It'd be kinda cool if to emulate the analog horror aesthetic, they'd put a small filter over the screen like it's a VHS recording or smth
That'd be cool

A shapeshifter idea has been tossed around for a while and it would just not work against a full on swf team. If the killer could in theory shape shift into other killers that might work the game would be filled with Tsang Tsungs.

Isn't this stuff just like..... incredibly low effort creepypasta? Or am I missing something?

Low effort and Mandela Catalogue don't deserve to be in the same sentence imo
Whether ppl think it's scary or not is subjective but there's so much effort put into it, presumably by one guy as well I think?

This idea was sort of what we were expecting when the Legion trailer first released back in the day, but no dice. I like Mandela catalogue, but I don't see how that even remotely begins to work in DBD. The most "defined" i.e. have a specific look to them characters are Intruder and Redacted. A lot of analogue horror isn't really designed in ways that make them viable for something outside of jumpscare games because so much of it builds fear through its atmosphere and world building rather than specific scary things
