I am still curious….

To why Ghostface was the Chapter for the Year 3 Anniversary but Stranger Things wasn’t.

Sure, maybe the Stranger Things chapter wasn’t finished but the Ghostface chapter wasn’t at all finished during the PTB, he was a complete mess.

Maybe the Devs knew Stranger Things wouldn’t have stayed permanently from the start Leading them to not make Stranger Things the Anniversary chapter. I think the Stranger Things chapter could’ve easily been an Anniversary chapter. It was massively hyped, and the trailer is just amazing.

I remember being at school dying of excitement. It truly holds a special place in my heart and I am happy I got to be a part of it.

It is still one of the best Chapters in the game to this day and I am sad that the content is no longer purchasable for newer players.

I don’t think I will get an answer but hey, that’s just a theory, a game theory!

It's not always about how close the content is to being done(a lot is though) but, sometimes, it's just about having constant back and forth conversations with the IP holders. Seeing as how the Stranger Things chapter initially released with quite a bit on launch day, they probably talked a lot with Netflix for, skins, the way the base characters look and Demo's power and how Hawkins lab would look. That said though, I still mainly think the reason for the latter release because just how much content was in it. We had three characters for the first time, multiple cosmetics and a map.

Honestly, the more and more I think about it, the more I just realize how much I miss that chapter being open for anyone to buy because it really was up there as one of the best. :(

Maybe that is true. I just think Ghostface wasn’t really Anniversary material.

Especially since it was a stand alone killer with no map and had nothing to do with the Scream series. Would have been different if it was though. A crazy good chapter indeed.

Compared to Year 2, I still think Year 2 was a lot memorable. Especially since we got cosmetics and the Clown’s theme is engraved in my head.

I believe because ghostface has a overall bigger customer range he was the better pick for the anniversary, sure stranger things was also big but ghostface is by far more known.

Besides the obvious 'most likely wasn't ready' idea already put forward, look at it this way.

The anniversary is supposed to be a big event. See the past two, where two huge horror IPs joined the fog. It's about recognisability of the IP, how iconic it is.

I'd wager Scream and Ghostface is far more iconic than Stranger Things is, particularly in the horror fan community.

Of course, our Ghostface is an OC, but I digress.

It's because the Stranger Things chapter had season 3 spoilers in it so they couldn't release it until after. Anniversary is in June, season 3 released in July.
