About that upcoming DS+Parental Guidance combo, not great
Since I've just seen Parental Guidance will go live nerfed, I was reminded to make this thread I had planned on making.
Essentially, if you're looking forward to pairing Parental Guidance with DS for extra anti-tunnel protection, I suggest you reassess. This is not to say that PG can't be used in general, but only that the specific synergy with DS is more superficial than it appears and likely not worth investing the slot for that purpose alone.
This follows from my tests in the ptb and the upcoming nerf will only make it worse.
Specifically, the DS stun happens outside of chase. As I suspected and simply confirmed in my tests, I was as usual simply able to follow the footsteps sound through the absence of chase music, and that was normally enough to not lose the survivor. From there, if even necessary, it's a simple matter of watching out for normal environmental cues to track the survivor (crows, grass, etc.). In open maps, I didn't have much issue picking up the trail, as there aren't generally sufficient LoS blockers and the distance gained in 4 seconds (5 for DS stun minus about 1 sec for the survivor falling animation), while it takes some time to cover, it isn't enough to lose track in most situations.
Sure, in indoor maps it's a guaranteed chase breaker, but that's too few maps and DS already works well on its own on those.
We also tried doing some cheeky stuff like faking going away and then circling back to hide and mixing it up with actually maximizing distance. However, it really didn't work well because I just kept attention to my close surroundings as I scanned farther away and I could usually tell if they actually took off or not. To top it off, you also will need Iron Will for this, as PG duration is too short (and it's about to become shorter) to hide you if the killer decides to sweep the close surroundings, investing three slots for this. And if you get found, you now have no distance and no DS, making it not a smart strategy.
That's my 2 cents.

This lines up with my experience as killer. When I eat a DS I just follow the sound, not the scratch marks

parental guidance also makes you make no sound while injured

You're going to need someone with Firecrackers/Flashbang (for the noise dampening)in order for it to work, and even then that is so much effort for a single save.
Would only be practical in a Hard-Tunnel scenario

This perk could’ve easily been added to DS.

Yeah i tried basically any combination on PTB and as long as there arent massive amounts of LoS-Blocker around you its basically useless no matter of DS, Head-On, Smash-Hit or whatsoever. They just nerfed a already weak perk, nobody even complained about.

Yeah no one’s gonna use it, might be good on indoor maps but I wouldn’t waste a perk slot.

Yes, this was the first thing I wrote when it came out. And this was also something I have written on the Forums before the Perk was announced and I have read it from others as well that this (hiding Scratchmarks, Grunts of Pain, Blood) for a short duration of time would add to the Anti-Tunnel-factor of DS (and the Anti-Tunnel-factor of DS is currently very low).
But even with 10 seconds, there is not really a point to waste two Perk Slots on this, the Perk was already pretty bad. But now that they changed it, it will be even worse. Which is not entirely terrible, they are nerfing an already weak Perk, so the complaints will be quite rare, but still, they should have added this to DS in the first place.
