If you were new to DBD today, would you play it?

Just curious.

If I was new to DBD today, I would probably play it a little until I get fed up with the grind.

With the level of grind and only emotional attachment being my bf that very rarely plays? Probably not lmao

Probably for 10 hours before calling it quits. I really had nothing better to play during 2019 tbh

No, the game is overly TOXIC and i'd refund it.

I wouldn't. The reason I kept playing back in 2016/17 was because I played with friends all the time so I didn't mind the grind, but I knew it was there.

No the fact that the grind is hundreds of hours long and brand new player getting put into matches with players with hundreds and even thousands of hours. It's not really as new player friendly as they claim it is.

I always ask the question, will I have fallen in love with Spirit if I found DBD a different time than I did?

    Honestly, no.

I first found out about DBD within a specific scenario, and what I discovered in 2018 was a very different, and a thousand times better, game than what we have today. That game is what I fell in love with.

If I had found the game earlier I would definitely play it, but the current game? I guarantee it would not have interested me.

    It doesn't interest me.

Probably and I'd probably have a lot of fun, I still remember that learning phase of trying a bunch of killers for the first time and being thrown into all those mechanics at once and loving it.

Then I'd figure everything out and get jaded all over again lmao.

Probably not. After seeing a paid game with hundreds of dollars worth of DLC, with a ton of paid cosmetics with a paid battle pass as well that would probably turn me away. Even if I played during a free weekend I'd probably just get way too frustrated at the grind for perks.

probably not because of the grind.

If I had no prior knowledge about the game then yeah. The concept on paper sounds cool af and of course you have all your classic horror icons. Unfortunately the execution is...not as great. But still yeah I'd probably get roped in anyways and I feel like most who say otherwise are lying to themselves. The game has always been the same way pretty much. Whatever didn't stop you before won't stop you now.

Probably because being a baby killer is easy street in this game. It's not until later when you've sunk time and money and fallen in love with the great games you get that your dream becomes a nightmare...

    Clickity Clicks

    Bully Squads

    TBagging

    The horror...the horror.....

Yes, apart from visuals the game is extremely similar to when I started in 2018

Nope. Grind is so much and toxic playerbase is so annoying. I would not play DbD today and i am not playing so much already.

Without my 4.5yrs grind, never again.

    Not a single game.

I would introduce the game to my friends 2 years ago, if the grind isnt this insane.

Its probably because of 3 stages of the grind, grind Shard to get characters, grind character to unlock their perks, grind other characters to have their perks.

Even if you buy all the characters to reduce the Shard grind, it only reduce 1 third of the grind.

Quite likely, yes. The concept is just that great.

That said, if I were to lose all my progress now, I would most likely not play anymore out of spite. Not a single refund of currencies could get me back at that point.

probably not , worst community I ever dealt with, terrible grind in a p2p game, extremely stale meta, devs being justified in not listening to its community.

Back then, it did. And I am fine with that.

    But not anymore.

Of course, I’m still playing and having fun so why would I not have fun if I started again?

And yeah, I don’t get people that are still playing and on the forums all the time if they’re not having fun. Just play something else if you aren’t enjoying the game. 🤷‍♂️

Considering the grind and depth of the DLC and cosmetics, I’d laugh at anyone even considering it.

As I’ve been playing since Mikey joined and have over 6k, I’m just keeping up with content

I would be playing VHS if it weren't for the fact it got hit hard in a cyberattack. Servers are still down.

Probably, but I'd exclusively play survivor. Whether I would stay for the grind is another question.

Yes most likely, althou i would probably not hold it with as much sentimental value as i do now.

    Nope.

Not for the massive grind, I like grinding games like Diablo or Poe, is for the lack of any kind of balance and how unfun playing killer is.
