The Truth About Freddy (IMO)
1. Playing as him, his mechanic is more mental for the player than anything. You have to think 2 possibly 3 steps ahead playing as him. Most of the community probably do not think about his power this way thus possibly all the complaints about him. (SB: I throw the spirit and nurse in this category as well.)
2. While playing against him, less is best. That's all I am going to say. Other Freddy mains may know what I am talking about..lol
3. His "rework" should involve something around changes to his base transition time and PREVENTING survivor actions such as repairing, healing, cleaning...etc while transitioning!!! Also, something should be added to his kit like Pig (jigsaw boxes)...something survivors must interact w/ to "wake up" other than finding another woke survivor to do it. To balance, Freddy can't "see you" interacting with said item for a number of seconds depending how many times you transitioned into world. The more times you do...the less time you have before being seen again. Forces survivors to THINK before getting caught again.
4. His POV dream vision sucks...esp. in basement 🤦🏾♂️. Brighten it up for him....keep it as is for survivors in dream world if devs can do that? The survivors have the upper hand in the world, not Freddy...change my mind! Lol
5. His perks are fine as is...leave em alone...lol. Change his add ons for overall QOL and to balance new transition time and aura revealing on base kit.
I enjoy playing both sides but Freddy just need some "small" tweaks and he will be sufficient enough to get the respect he deserves! Lol

I think they should have it that he can insta down survivors if they've been in the dream world a total period of time. Sort of like pig trap, but not death. So if he put you in the dream 3 times and each time you were in for 30 to 60 seconds for a total of about 2.5 minutes, if he puts you in again and you're in for another minute you're exposed whenever in the dream and it resets back to need 10 seconds the next time.
I don't recall his kill methods in the remake, but he did some ridiculous stuff to people after he stalked them for a while.

i especially agree with your 3rd point. ive come up with this idea myself multiple times and i think it would be a great buff and QoL change for freddy.
i also agree on having a brighter vision and maybe the fog reduced? sometimes its very hard to see as freddysome things i would like to add to the list:
-give him the old terrorradius back (16m) or reduce it from 24m to lets say 18m or 20m
-remove the red stain from freddy. freddy heavily relies on mindgames, as youve stated earlier. with this you could get said mindgames done more easy, while you could also trick sleeping survivors into thinking you are a survivor who wants to wake them up (happens to me sometimes lol), so they come towards you.
-more fog for survivors. i think for survivors its too easy to see in the dreamworld, so id appreciate it if their view would be more foggy. would also help in my previous point.
-"auto aim" doesnt lock onto awake survivors anymore. instead, you will simply attack through them (so no awake survivor will bodyblock for a sleeping survivor)
-self care wont wake you up anymore / you need 3 failed skillchecks to wake up / it will only wake you up in the end game. one of the three.some more things, that could make it into the list, but im unsure about them:
-awake survivors cant interact with you, without changing the surrounding area. no flashlightblinds from awake survivors anymore.
-survivors who are awake and want to interat with you, become endangered, so you appear for them, and for them only, and can attack them, even though they arent in the dream. after a hit, this effect will be released from them / a set timer counts to 0. you will not have any terrorradius for these people, they will however hear the lullaby
-freddys attacks instamori the survivor.so, as you can see i kinda enjoy his basekit the way it is right now, however i feel like it needs some buffs, not a whole rework.

50% of his transition time removed when survivor is doing actions, 2m range increase on his power, and change his add ons to reflect these (he needs more aura add ons).

He isn't nearly as bad as many say. I believe many people just dont know how to play him effectively (like Tydetyme). However he should keep his aura reading and dream transition.0
