Click + spin
Come ye toxic survivors and entitled killers of this forum and answer me this riddle which hath plagued me for so long -
What's the deal with clicking your flashlight once and then trying to 360? Because I've seen this plenty of times in the past but more often recently...
I confess it may be possible that despite playing since 2018 I might, occasionally, as killer, sometimes, and definitely not all the time, now and then, once in a blue moon get 360'd (and not often, I simply cannot stress this enough)
But honestly literally never with this, because the singular click is a statement of your intention to do it...and then I expect it...and then you go on the floor
So what is this, is there some tactical element I'm missing?

I swear I remember hearing someone say, somewhere and somewhen, that it helped with animation resetting for facilitating a proper 360. No idea if that was ever true, let alone whether it is now, but it's something that surfaces in my brain whenever I see someone do it.

Basically, if you click your light, your character model automatically turns to the direction your camera is in. If you look behind you, your model automatically does a complete 180, which then makes spinning slightly easier. It also makes faking a spin a lot lot easier which, with so many people expecting it, means they'll likely swing early expecting a spin and then miss.

I believe it's because if you click at a certain direction your camera is facing, then it instantly moves your character's model to face that direction. It's to make 360's quicker and more fluid I'm guessing.

As a very active killer player: this shenanigan does work against killers that require precision for abilities like Twins Pounce or Deathslinger, but is an act of desperation against an M1 hit.
At best it may cause an experienced killer to pause.

Interesting. I don't swing early when I expect a spin though anyway I kinda wait until they're done, possibly bc I learned killer on PS4

Thanks - i also want to know that.
Because i see the clicking often but nothing happens... most of the time i simply hit them - and then wondered what the clicking should have done.
Maybe you have to be good to do this - for the average surv i face it does nothing really...

It's actully easier to make a killer miss if you do this. Clicking the flashlight faces you forward so then a nice and easy spin can be done and the killer wiffs

The times i saw that it doesn´t work.

I thought they just wanna fake Dead Harding in your direction as clicking to instantly spin and then using DH is a pretty common move?

The only time anyone ever click spins at me is when they are trying to Deadhard through me thinking i will actually swing instead of stand there and watch them faceplant into my chest....

I mean as I said I fall for 360s much more if they aren't choreographed
but I could just be spreading sneaky killer misinformation

it's usually after they've already used DH, although I have seen that too

It's just a jest at the killer to try and trip them up. A little distraction to compliment a 360

I thought you would say this whole post in rhyme.

Oh come all you Forum dwellers,
Survivor and killer main alike.
Answer me this question which
Came to me as a spike
Of curiosity,
Of pure contemplation
Why, when you're about to spin,
Must you click across the nation?
I've seen this tactic far and wide,
One click of flashlights bright.
And every time, yes, every time
It brings me naught but fright.
For I ask myself, why, oh dear survivor
Do you telegraph your movements so?
I may simply stand and wait,
Watching you move to and fro.
Whenever these things arise
Simply from the blue
I find myself falling a victim
Far more than you.
However when you tell me
Where your intent lies
Then I may counter, adapt, predict,
And strike you down before my eyes.

Analysing poetry has had no effect on my writing abilities, they're still awful.

Lmao I love it <3
Having to translate poetry at uni put me off it a bit, honestly more stressful than this one academic article on German bridge ramp maintenance I did more recently

Just another easy survivor glitch in a survivor sided game.
