They even brought a saloon map offering sending them to a SWF sided map.
Coordination of generators being done can make the map effectively unlossable for the survivors (by leaving gallows+Main building for last with one off in a distant corner) but uncoordinated survivors can easily make it unwinnable for themselves.

No, SBMM is not what makes something like this happen, this is caused by que imbalance and the fact this community is toxic as #########.
Things like this has happening all the time, since general consensus is that killers are extremely scarce, matchmaking always prioritize que speed over balanced matches.

My instant Survivor Queue during this evening shows that right now Survivors are scarce.
But the rest is correct.

Today is not an usual day, it's two or one days right after new killer release.
Just like PTB which has much longer killer que times, in specific circumstance killers can overweigh survivors, definitely not common though.

Tell your brother to first learn the game from the survivor side it will help him learn the tricks and placement for a lot of the maps. Killer is definately 4 times harder than survivor and probably more so when you dont really full understand all the tactics and techniques in play. He is just going through what we all have had to go through the learning curve is steep. He also probably shouldnt start with Onryo as well as he wont have any of the perks from other killers needed to perform well. SBMM is hopefully going to get better for him over time. I hope he doesnt take it too badly I know i had it rough myself after I forced myself to figure out blight and I am still getting 0ks from time to time due to 3 sabos and 1 map user which is just miserable.

New players playing against experienced players.
Same on the different end. With my 5k hours I get a team which don't even have 1.5k hours ALL 4 of them combined.

Here's what probably happened.
He's new, but had a bit of coaching from you. He was able to flatten the first few groups he went against, and with his MMR being volatile (as he's new) it catapulted him to intermediate MMRs and he got slaughtered.
It's...annoying, but it should stabilize. That said, my matches have been bizarre tonight too.
I only saw that tonight, probably because everyone wanted to try the new killer - she's incredibly iconic.
Usually, my morning survivor queues are zippy but my evening queues can take a while.

Right now is one of the rare moments where both sides are almost perfectly distributed. Resulting in little to no queue for both sides.
But this is due to the new chapter/killer. Where everyone wants to play the new killer.
We'll see how long it takes until that wears off.
Nevertheless, new players should never be matched like this. It ruins the game for them. Especially when they see how little fun they had. Combined with how little bloodpoints they earn, vs how much the grind is.

You see making balance matches is our goal. Goals lead to wins. So we just decided to cut out the middle man and only care about the wins which is finding a match.

The system may work and predict - ok, this match will be 4e. A brand new killer vs veterans. Seems alright.
Again - is this a skilled system?

Yeah, not sure I agree with the guy that said it's a strong map for survivors. I'd say it's arguably one of the most beneficial maps for killers.

Your brother need to play letherfacecamping with anti-body block perla (agitation, iron grasp and blind fury. 4th perk you can choise between insidious or blood warden). Go for the frist claudette with lantern or for the frist tbag, that is all.
