I haven't consistently played DBD since the Twins came out, that should give a timeframe on how long it's been since I've played. In that time, I clocked about 1700 hours from Clown to Blight, was really into the game, but my joy really started to die out, but im wanting to come back suddenly!

That seemed like it would be easy, but no, I chose Trapper with a terrible build (BS2 lol, Pop, Dragons Grip, Enduring) and got sent to RPD by an offering where I proceeded to get stomped. I had a hard time seeing where I was going and couldn't adjust to the map before gens went off. Notably my fault, I failed a few chases... running into walls...I sat there crying (figuratively) wishing it was autohaven, macmillan, even Ormond would've went better.

What do people think of the new maps? Killers? Perks and stuff.

    Stay away.

If you're going to play regardless just stick to Blight, Nurse, Spirt and such.

"What do people think of the new maps? Killers? Perks and stuff."

Still survivor sided, especially with "Boon: Circle Of Healing" (CoH) running around.

In case you're unaware, survivors have hexes now called "boons" except they can pick where they are and can relight them unlimited number of times. So basically hexes without the downside of being hexes.

CoH gives everyone selfcare with a healing speed buff. Even harder to keep up pressure than before as it all gets undone in half the time it took you to get it or less. Hit and run is dead with CoH around so don't try to use that strategy, you have to commit to chases now.

It might be best to stay away tbh.

Eh... nobody likes RPD, but is even worse when you play on it for the first few times. Unfortunately, the only way of dealing with the confusing corridors is to get used to them after some time, memorizing the paths and knowing the shortest ones to traverse the map.

It's also a survivor sided map due to how much you have to walk to traverse it and some really strong loops. It has two insanely strong window loops (one at the office and one at the library) and a few god pallets, one of them being on an insanely strong loop. However, it also has some really weak pallets as well. It's a good map for survivors who know how to play on it, but gameplay is usually miserable for both sides.

The other new map, Eyrie of Crows, is also very survivor sided. Specially terrible for stealth killers.

About the new killers, the strongest one is the Artist by far. But her power requires some pratice and skill to be used effectively and, even though I love playing her, most of the community doesn't seem to like her so much. Pinhead's power also requires skill and is not very rewarding in chase, but his really strong passive compensates for that, being the reason he has the highest average kill rates right now. The Nemesis is the simplest one. The Trickster is a bit weak, pretty much a weaker huntress.

About perks... both the Artist and the Onryo have some new cool options for gen defense. But be wary of the survivors' Boon: Circle of Healing, know that it can shut down hit-and-run tactics.

Oh, another thing: Deathslinger has been nerfed to the ground and is now a Huntress with extra steps. The Spirit also got nerfs but it is still S tier (her phasing sound is now directional, and it plays even inside your terror radius, so no more standing still mindgames... unless a survivor isn't aware of the nerf). The Trapper and The Plague, however, are now better and more fun due to buffs. Their add-ons are different too.

    Okay, just three more things:

The three blinks Nurse is back. The additional blink add-on was changed and doesn't have that line of sight requirement anymore, it just slows down the blink recharge.

Ebony and Ivory mori's only work on survivors on death hook now.

The hatch now can't just "spawn closed" as before. It only spawns when it opens: when a single survivor is left. So keys are not a headache anymore.

I'll be honest, I just uninstalled the game last month and don't plan on coming back anytime soon

I would personally not recommend coming back

You really aren't missing out on much, that is how I see it

Does forums hate the game now? I mean, I knew people sometimes had gripes...lots of them but this is on another level.

I'd say it's still a love-hate relationship for many players. If you plan on playing killer, just know that right now survivors are in a strong spot again, mostly due to the introduction of Boon Perks, especially CoH which counters many m1 killers and their tactics available. There have also been changes to perks like DH and Boil Over which have pretty much-become base kit on surviors. Though, the former is much more common than the latter since it's nerf.

Depending on who you ask the answer will change about the state of the game currently. Some would say it's not fun at all, while others here are still very much enjoying the game.

Oh yeah, it is rare to find someone who is still passionate about their love for DBD. I often feel so alone, but lucky for me, I love reading complaints. So it all works out well.

    DH and Boil Over

You're not even joking are you? Multiple surcvs on rpd were using it and it was a huge pain in the butt.

I can't blame anyone. It seems like survivors are very strong again, from reports, YouTube gameplay, forums, new perks...M1 killer must really suck with that boon perk.

Personally, I quit the game due to rift. Just thought maybe I could stomach it again. To me the rift marks when the game become 100 percent corporate garbage that's lost it's charm and passion.

Yeah. Even more annoying is how you could be close to the basement on any map. The perk makes you move can cause the slightest little jump going down the stairs and it counted towards the wiggle meter progression. Made it risky to even hook in the basement without planning and hoping you don't miss a step and accidentally jump over it. Kinda glad I don't see it as often in my games now.

The game, the community and sometimes the staff are crap.

Straight up. The game is frustraiting as all hell. Balance is as good as it ever been but it still needs lots of work.

Dbd community is a bit toxic. To the point where it now has its own "cancel culture" so if youre live and you talk smack. You'll "ruffle" some feathers. Not to mention everyone is a god at the game on the foruns (Or so they believe)

And the staff. From boneheaded comments. Comparing dbd to hockey..... even tho hockey is a team game patrick. Just cause someone scores doesnt mean the team didnt help.. ugh.. i mean if it was just about scoring why do other stats exist patrick? Not to mention the scandal of color blindness that literally took a famous person to talk about before we even got a response

To even the mods warning on some stupid things that bothers no one because it and i quote "spam like" because someone is dedicated to their game and wants to spread positivity about the killer they like to more and more people so more and more people can try to enjoy it like they can.

All the bugs in the game that takes months and months to fix. The balance issues that takes yeaaaaars to fix.

Do i enjoy the game? Sometimes. But is it a crap game? Yes.

Crap game for sure, always known that. My biggest issue right now has been adjusting to the new graphics. Everything is so dark. I feel like I lived dbds glory days or something like that..

Came here to say this. Just don't. Game is in the most stale, unfun and tilting state it's been in for years. He got out, stay out.

Those of us who do are still here, it's just the ones who don't that are the most vocal.
