Brand new ps4 controller and can barely control the camera?
If I try to gently nudge the right stick to move the camera a little, literally nothing happens. Then once I push the stick past a certain point the camera will shoot straight up or down. This makes keeping track of the killer when in a chase very difficult and aiming the flashlight impossible. Has anyone else had this problem? Do I just have a defective controller or is this common with new ones?

Oh and trying to use the cursor to select things on the bloodweb is a chore (left stock) because I will often overshoot

It's not an off brand controller is it? My cousin has one and that thing has bad input delay.

dbd on controller has higher deadzones meaning u have to push more on the controller to actually move it, its why you barely see stick drift in comparison to other games like apex, etc. a new or old controller will do the same regardless

basically, dbd on controller has higher deadzones which means that it takes a bigger push to move the stick this is why you either dont move or shoot ur aim straight up, it sadly has nothing to do with controllers or with it being old or new. my only advice is to kinda try and get used to it because all you can do really

Would be nice if BHVR included control settings that weren't on par with the early 2000s. Oh well, just gotta deal with it for now.

I use Xbox elite controller and the difference between that and a stock controller is night and day. The stock controller inputs are horrendous and it feels like a whole different game.
You get a lot of control using a good controller and with the Xbox one you can customise pretty much everything. The most useful thing is the curve function on the analog sticks. You can make it aggressive or smooth & add slight delay (and everything in-between). You can also set the trigger conditions (instant, delayed etc) & of course the rear paddles are a godsend.
I would highly recommend getting a razor or scuf controller or whatever the PS equivalent is. They do cost a lot new, but you can pick em up fairly cheap on eBay. I just snagged an elite 2 second hand for £32 that has a broken RB bumper, which is a very simple fix. They normally cost like £160 new.
Will definitely change your game, not just in DBD but all online competitive games
