What Would You Do If DBD were to start dying down in popularity ?
To be completely honest, I think I would still try and continue playing it regardless of the problems it has and will have later. Though the game can get stale from time to time there will still be tons of killers to play as and against with my friends. The game to me has been fairly fun over the past year of me playing and I genuinely love the game and I always find myself coming back. Plus, there are things I haven't tried and achievements that I haven't earned yet. Until all has been done or played I think I would keep playing. Yes as I said the game gets a little stale but there will always be something for me to do. I love this game and hope that it doesn't die down. I would love to hear your thoughts if this were to ever happened.

When the player basis truly drops i predict the game will be like Evolve. When i try to play there wont be anyone online. If there is the monster is a god player and my hunter teammates are newbs.

If I ended up quitting I’d just play HK a lot.

uhm, just play with my friends and hope it doesnt turn into cod zombies, if i was a developer, i would ignore this and continue making spaghetti code and more issues!

nothing in particular...
if the game stops being playable, I'll just play something else.
2 -
The game has been dying since the announcement of SBMM.
6 -
Not completely as some content creators would have you to be believe. The game is still in good and will last for a good while before its gone for good
1 -
Just go play something else.

Probably another game of the same genre that fulfills the reason players leave dbd in the first place.
2 -
Yes it does, dbd's playerbase has only been dropping since the announcement of SBMM.
And if it is working so good, why as a rank 1 killer with good/high MMR, am i getting mostly matched against baby survivors?
Those baby survs probably get matched against alot of good killers, hence they stop playing the game and the playercount is dropping.

I'd still play the game as much as now, which isn't alot so it's not going to bother me as much.
I might even play more because it would mean i would face less generic unimaginative meta builds.

id play the game the same way i do now
not very seriously, and only as a distraction from the crushing weight of reality and the ever approaching grip of death.
also for the lulz

I wouldn't care either way, nor would I be the least bit surprised. I have over a dozen other games I enjoy way more anyways.

If I'm still finding games I'm probably still going to play. If I'm not well...ow2 is coming out soon.

The game is already dying cuz of sbmm, open your eyes, this last dlc didn't even increase the playerbase

I'm only here cause VHS is still down...

I only play to experiment with the new killers, completely my Rifts, and try to completely my adepts and prestige all of my killers and my main Survivors choices.
The introduction of SBMM into the game, doesn't even help me with the fact thay going for hooks is not even worth my skill in the game; especially I feel it all over the place. Going for kills leans towards more camping and Tunneling which I slowly less enjoy; as I want to have a normal game without too much gen rushing and extend chases. In a way, I want to achieve 8 to 12 hooks as possible; when playing Killer; so I can maximize my BP gain.
Same goes for Survivors, I want to play for certain goals and achieve a certain element of fun or method of winning in saving my team. But, as a salty solo player whom struggled to communicate to Randos, whom does dumb stuff or screw me over; it feels quite annoying and frustrating to live on any further in this game.
Meta perks is still meta, do many new perks yet not everyone wants to run them over the meta; or simple invest in the time and BP to unlock and try new things. Allot of new players I tried to invite into the game, would simply go away or not bother wanted to play; due to the grind, lack of perks accessibility, and lack of communication solo players deal with/or frustrating hard difficulties killer has to endure; while SWF is clearly overwhelming powerful, especially experienced bully squad.

Probably something like this

I would be angry, but I would just go on with my normal life.

play more injustice 2
i hate autocorrect

I remember red rank killer queues taking forever when I wanted to play killer so it'd probably just go back to that. Playing tabbed out of the game waiting for a match, doing a bit of pallet smashy survivor stabby, rinse repeat.
I like that we get fast games now regardless of MMR or whatever, but if people eventually stop queueing up, well, there is always the tutorial.

I already quit, so it won't matter to me.
However, I would be both glad and sad at the same time. I hate what this game has become, but it's not like I want to see it die, either.

I really like this game, even if it has its problems, bugs and really toxic community, but I'll always playing this game, with my friends or solo

This game is just something to do with my hands to be honest. I'd probably quit.

been playing other things for a while and I am hardcore stuck into elden ring so I don't plan on returning as long mmr is in the game

No need to go at this hypothetical, its already a reality, albeit not beyond salvaging and repairing, if someone gave it the rigjt impulses.
But back on topic, I guess eventually the games player base will melt down to a hardcore family of a couple thousand players, not unlikely the games formative years. You would constantly be matched against the same players and everyone would just rotate survivors and killers and the attitude would be much more relaxed, because all the try Hards either left years ago or left their ways behind, become one of the family.
Mathieu would eventually acknowledge his bigger errors and grow as a person, but it would be too late tocstop the fall from grace. In the post-apocalyptic phase he would actually start playing the game and agreeing to a lot of the complaints of old and, being one of 5 devs left, wouls work closely with the remaining players to try out things for fun. Things woild constantly kills switched, numbers dialed up or down and a dozen members of the community would be so deep in the matter that their input be listened too, turning them into de facto devs. It will be a fun time, a time of strong family ties and finally even DH will get nerfed, imploding the game, because its code was holding everything together. And then everyone will maniacally laugh. DH was he killing joke.

Eventually all franchise grow stale and die when dbd eventually dies lets just hope DBD 2 comes around that fixes and updates alot of what made dbd fun and exciting

I'd probably say "Oh no! Anyway.." and go to Elden Ring or Monster Hunter.
The game as it is has become stale and it's even apparently becoming less popular, if only on steam. So I'm more than prepared for the game to be lost at this stage.
Hopefully with the game dying, the developers will learn from their mistakes, include the community in their thought processes and use us to help make their game better. You know.. Instead of saying "We're doing something," then not telling us anything until we've pestered a guy long enough that he snaps at a comment on stream.

It kinda is right now but when it drops to the point where its basically is dead then that would remove one game that I play. I'm already seeing a few games coming out that can replace it though.

Honestly if this game started to die idk what I would do. This game has its issues but out of all games Ive sunk the most amount of hours in purely cause Im a massive horror fan. I would have to move on but I wouldnt be happy doing so. For all the issues it has I still love this game.
1 -
tbh thats just bad match making yes the player base is dropping but thats on steam there isnt only 30 thousand players playing right now. The game regardless of its dropoff is still fine and will most likely last for a good couple more years

Fair

I’ll keep playing until I don’t feel like doing it anymore.

Yes sbmm will most likely be the death of this game but I wouldnt say the game is dying. Yes its player base did drop but you cant forget that was after summer where the player base is lowest. Alot of people play during summer. Now that doesnt excuse the massive drop off it got but you have to look at the other factors. Also keep in mind that we only know of the player drop off on steam and not other plat forms.

simple but fair answer

True but all the issues started bcs of SBMM.
Playerbase didnt even went into the ''+'' after they announced it.
