whats your favorite bait? im quite partial to shrimp and occasionally some calamari slices not a fan of night crawlers though

The best bait are the live one, they generaly give better result than the dead and fake bet because their erratic movement catch the fish attention easier than colorfull false bait.
And even if you want some colorfull bait, you can aquire in some store a mix of maggot that can have a pretty good variety of color.

Much like this Hag here I prefer my bait to be placed somewhere in the open ready for point hungry survivors to come running for a taste. Tie it to a nice Haunted Grounds and you got yourself a "one slap trap" to success.
