Deciding between clown or deathslinger for my next "shards" killer
So, I finally accrued 9000 shards to buy another killer and I'm having trouble deciding who, so hopefully you can help me choose :)
So Im basically choosing between deathslinger largely because of dead mans switch or clown because bamboozle. Of course Im also taking into consideration their gameplay, because im obviously going to play them.
So Pros of Deathslinger: Strong perk that I really wanna try on some of my favorite killers such as pinhead, blight, sadako and artist. Cons: since I play with a controller I'm dreadfully bad at ranged killers such as huntress and, sadly nemesis (T.T). oddly enough Im pretty good with plague (second favorite) and Pyramid head (main), so I dont know which is gonna be with slinger.
Pros of clown is that I would absolutelly love to use Bubba more (you know, other than camping), but im finding regular gameplay without bamboozle to be a near impossibility unless Im playing absolute potatoes, which isnt much fun. I would also very much like try this on wraith, spirit, sadako, plague and other fundamentally m1 killers I like to use. Also while clown definitelly seems very weak even when watching guides and streams, I kinda feel Im more used to playing killers like him
Cons: I already have pop goes the weasel, so reduced perk value for my shards. might prove too weak to consistently enjoy him
Opinions and suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Might also suggest or point things out that are currently out of my scope :)

If you want Pop goes the weasel and bamboozle get clown. A not so strong killer but has great perks.
Slinger has Dead man’s switch which is a great perk on mobile killers. Slinger is still pretty good but not as good as he used to be

You already have pop so I would go for slinger with DMS.

All of Deathslinger's teachables are in a good place right now, all of them have received buffs or reworks since release too. He's a lot more viable than Clown too.

I'd say Clown. He's actually really fun despite being clown tier but also his perks are cool. I use Pop to this day.
Now that being said, Deathslingers perks are great too! Hex: Retribution is amazing and underrated and DMS was recently buffed to be a lot better.
I'd honestly say go with whichever one looks more fun to play as

Gearhead is still bad. It got a better activation requirement for a worst effect on trigger.

How is aura revealing of survivors worse than gen auras? Unless you mean that they have to hit greats instead of goods? Also no longer limited to a 30-second duration.

If you already have Pop, I think both DMS and Retribution is better than Bamboozle by itself unless you mainly play M1 killers. In that case, it's a toss up in my opinion.
For gameplay, I think Clown is more fun but that's individual preference. Both killers are weak right now.

It's essentially random aura revealing that is out of your control and survivor auras are the same color as gen auras. You can miss it easily whether it's because the aura blends in with the gen or that you didn't notice the aura activate since there's no notification.
The gen aura was better, because it not only lasted much longer than 10 seconds but it was much easier to notice for an effect you can't control and triggers randomly.

I see your point. I wouldn't mind the survivor reveal aura to be a different color than red. Perhaps Gearhead should be accompanied with an explosion notification as well.
Upon reviewing both versions, old Gearhead could also reveal multiple generators/survivors at once. But this one is limited to one survivor. Don't see why someone would run Gearhead over Tinkerer.

Clown's Bottles are more forgiving then Deathslinger
But Deathslinger has 2 perks that are either really good (DMS) to decent (Hex: Retribution)
Both Killers aren't that good but if you spend time with them you can be better with them

Both are ok, but I'll go with clown because of pop and bamboozle, then again deathslinger has deadman's switch, his hex allows him to know who pop his hex's and gear head.
In my opinion clown is better to play as. As for slinger he is more stressful.
I recommend getting clown first then save up again to get slinger

Basically Deathslinger is similar enough to Huntress that I'm pretty sure you'll feel similar to him the way you feel to her. If you hate Huntress get Clown, if you love Huntress get Deathslinger.

Slinger is a lot of fun still, I'd go for him. I personally think Expose perks to make his shots more decisive is a ton of fun.
I usually go Agitation+Starstruck with the expose Iri addon and I enjoy it a lot. Clown is fun too sometimes but Slinger feels more spooky to play even if he is slower now.

Yeah good idea, clown has better perks and he has some fun cool add ons.
Slingers add ons are the most boring in the game imo...and most overall useless. I know that's a minor nitpick for choosing a killer but you really can't give variety to his gameplay. You WILL be the shooter-man. His power is better, thankfully.
