What do you do as survivor when your teammate is cheating?

I just sacrifice myself instead of escaping (if possible). I don't report them with video evidence because I am on console and can't be bothered to do it. If they made it easier for us I probably would.

I dunno why so many survivors join in to bm the powerless killer along with the hacker. It is sad.

We could at least put aside vs mentality when it comes to that.

If the cheater doesn’t render me entirely immortal, then it’s whatever makes the match finish the quickest. I could also finish up my challenge if possible and then just watch what happens from a distance.

A lot of people who play this game lack self awareness and will completely forget that they won with unwarranted advantages i remember there was this one video from zubat where he manages to kill the survivor but thanks to a hack they auto escape and then proceed to call Zubat trash at the game.

I am finishing generators as fast i can. Because i know this cheaters are holding game. So it is best to finish game fast. And then i am escaping or giving kill to killer. Depens on my mood.

I let the killer kill me usually

If they try to insta-heal me from the floor I hold shift so they can't pick me up/I jump in lockers so the killer can just insta-pick me up

Ideally I'd do anything I could to ruin the game for them. In reality though that's not possible unless they're the rare cheater who doesn't just make themselves immortal.

Depending on the cheats they have, it can be hard to get the cheater caught or killed. I usually do my best to start EGC as quick as possible so the game ends soon, and point at a hook until the killer hooks me. No fun for anyone, but might as well help the killer who's actively dealing with the cheater.

I sandbag them, and when they get hooked spam unhook so they can't instant kobe. Turns out they can just fall through the map an escape, but they didn't get their points. I then let the killer get some points and move to the next game. I have video and screenshots, but it's such a pain to report from console that I didn't bother

I try and get them killed. If I can’t because they just fly or whatever, I’ll do gens ASAP and then let killer kill me.

If I can actually report them (aka they are on Steam), I will record it. But other than that, I will just try to fix all Gens as fast as possible and get out of this game.

Had a speed cheater he tried to be subtle but he miss clicked and ran faster than he intended to I couldn't catch him all game so I downed him and kept trying to tell survivors he is cheating I didn't hit anyone of them but they knew and instead they kept helping him unhooks and healing so I left them to do gens and wanted to tell them to report him post game chat but everyone left quickly it sucks but going afk is a good option to punish hackers and deny them their fun. But as a survivor try to body block pallets for the cheater and team up to help the killer if possible he'll let you escape if you helped against the hacker.

Most probably won't notice as they often do it subtle. I can tell as killer though usually.

I just play as normal. Not my job to do anything about it. I don't like it but I don't engage in it. I just finish and move on. Similar to farming. I don't enjoy it so I just play normally and go.

Usually I'll let the killer kill me; if they decide they don't want to then I'll do gens and/or depending on what kind of cheats my teammate has then I might try to bodyblock/help the killer catch them if at all possible.

Alternatively if I can tell it's a hacker before the game starts (eg. survivor with mori offering) then I just dc.

You get the penalty tho. If I could I would probably do that myself. Those games are not enjoyable at all.

do the gens and leave, the killer doesnt want to be in that match.

I try to fix the 5 gens as fast as I can, Survivors cheating rarely do them, they try to extend a match as much as possible so they can annoy the Killer the maximum amount of time also cheaters rarely let anyone get hooked, usually trying to suicide is moot, theyll save you over and over.

Suiciding/DC leaves the Killer trapped with people who will try to drag the match for eternity, sure you got out with a suicide/DC, yay! now the Killer is trapped in an unwinnable game until he is forced to DC.

Noted. I'll keep that in mind from now on. Forcing egc as soon as possible is better idea but I can still try to get myself killed after I do that so killer gets some bp.

I usually just mess about and then give the killer a kill at endgame, probably in the minority here but I find playing with hackers really funny (as long as they aren't being completed dicks to the killer)

Problem is you guys if you try to get the hacker killed you could be reported for working with the killer yourself it is better to just die on first hook and move on while reporting them at end game.

I actually find some cheater antics amusing (both sides) especially the super high bounces, people moving at lightspeed, teleporting to weird places, Leatherfaces setting traps, Ghostfaces machinegunning hatchets etc... but I know a lot of people get super annoyed when they have to play with/against them so as deference if I notice the Killer is one of those Ill just try to end the game as fast as I can if he lets me.

This goes for Killers who dont enjoy the hackers antics, if you see Survivors doing gens, dont go after them, they are your ticket to get out of the game without a DC penalty, a lot of times Ive been trying to fix the gens only for the Killer to chase me because "this guy isnt hacking so I may be able to hook him! YAY!!" which never happens because the Killer will get blinded, stunned, slowed, I get instahealed etc by the hacking crowd and even if they do hook me now they cant leave because nobody will activate EGC.

I run to the killer and let them sacrifice me, if they can. I say that because I've had a hacking teammate who wouldn't let me get downed by the killer (Instantly healing me and our other teammates back to the healthy state) and infinite stunned the killer with Head On at the end of the game. (The Doctor ended up disconnecting, which I don't blame him for). Couldn't report the dude because I wasn't recording at the time and I'm on console, and reporting does literally nothing anyhow.

But yeah, I try to give the killer a kill when this happens.

When I notice someone cheating as survivor, I try and show the other players I'm not involved. I'll either:

    • I'll just stare at them while being next to the killer
    • Not move when the killer comes to down me
    • Finish the gens so everyone involved can go onto their next game

As killer when I see someone hacking I'll try to ignore them. I'll still play properly because it'll force the other survivors to finish the gens faster (sitting in the corner would just make the game potentially last longer). If another survivor gives up like I do then I'd tell them to do gens or kill them if they're below a hook.

Funny this discussion was created because while playing on friday all the survivors (including me) got downed immediately and hooked within 10 seconds of the match starting due to a hacking Trickster.

Once Survivors told me to kill myself because I was camping a speedhacker that was trying to farm them by unhooking. It was years ago when their tools weren't as strong as they are now and I was able to grab them from a vault.

So that is a pretty good example of what not to do.

Personally I try to ignore the hacker as much as possible to give the Killer a chance at a normal game.
