a reason for less killers that goes unspoken
I've noticed that the time of day with the least killer is midnight to about 6 am and waiting for a survivor game here can take upwards of 20 minutes or more. I just want to bring up another reason why queues are longer at this time than others. As stated in a stream earlier, many killer mains switch to survivor at night. We all have had one these nights, right? It's late, you're getting tired, but you want to grind out more bloodpoints. You're losing some of your functionality mentally and due to killer being more mentally taxing than survivor you do not want to play killer. So when it's 3:30am and your eyelids feel like they're power lifting a freight train remember that this is a reason the ratio is a bit more imbalanced at this time.

Also, there's a social aspect to survivor that you don't get with killer. A lot of us just want to chill and game with friends in the evening, especially on the weekend. Can't do that on killer. That's not necessarily an indictment of the killer role, just more of a fun factor on survivor. I'm much more likely to play killer when none of my friends are online.

I've always assumed it's mostly because evenings are when people get home from work and hop online to play with their friends

From my experience with ANY game that involves 2 sides going against one another. After dinner to late night is the worse time to play because thats when the try hards come out. The ones with no jobs and just play all the time. If i were still playing killer, id switch to survivor after 6pm to avoid that too.

I'm also convinced there's a lot of people in the "if friends are around I play survivor, otherwise I play killer" camp. I know I am, most of the time.

Kinda of yes but no
I want to play Killer mostly at late nights, idk why I just feel like it.
But I keep getting SUPER MEGA sweat squads at late nights, teams that play nearly perfect with 4 items (most of them purple or insane addons) that just play to win. I dont feel like playing against that so when I get tired of it I play survivor abit in hopes to kill some time till those squads stop playing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.
If I keep getting super sweaties I just quit dbd and play something else.
Thats how every night looks like for me. Well I actually am taking a break atm from dbd, I played maybe 3-4 games this entire week, I am mainly playing 7 days with some mates and we enjoy it pretty hard so ye I am happy to take a break atm.

In my experience the killer outage is from 3am to around 3pm

Respect to all killers playing during that time.

Couldn't agree more that's pretty much how I am, if nobody is on I'm playing killer all night but if I get at least two more friends to run with I switch to survivor

remember that I presented "a reason" and not "THE reason."

can you elaborate more? I dont really get what you mean with that sry I am dumb xD

It means it is a contributing factor, not the main reason, and stuff like "well I don't do that" are pointless to say.

I don't know, but late-night killer is godawful unless it's the weekend.

what I mentioned is "one thing" there are "several things"

Playing past midnight I can get instant survivor matches but getting a game as killer takes 5+ mins always for me.
