your "must have" perk for each role
what single perk do you like so much or is so strong that you pretty much don't even WANT to use that killer or survivor until they have it? For me it's spine chill for survivor and corrupt intervention for killer.

Corrupt and Whispers on Killer
Kindred and Spine Chill on Survivor
I know you asked for one but I can't just say one... LOL

BBQ, and iron will

BBQ and WGLF. Basically unplayable without these.

Killer BBQ survivor BT

For killer it's BBQ or corrupt, survivor I don't really have one. I used to use kindred all the time but eventually I took it off because it was restricting what builds I could do/what else I could use together and I felt that I needed to learn how to play without it.
It's not so much that I never play without those perks; I do play without them sometimes, but they're easily my most used.

It isn't just one. Flip Flop and Power struggle for survivor. Iron Maiden and BBQ for killer. Provides me an exit strategy and for killer, they can't hide.

Survivor: bt because yeah solo Queue also we're gonna live forever because survivor point gains are garbage
Killer: brutal strength or fire up

Devour Soap and Lithe

I love running sloppy on most of my M1 killers, despite CoH existing, it still often adds up and can be huge when it comes to those last second heals

Borrowed time lethal purser for me

Survivor- Recently Windows of Opportunity
Killer- Whatever the heck I have cause the blood web only wants to give me territorial imperative so anythings better

Usually Iron will and spine chill for my mains as survivor I do try to give them two perks that can give them different roles.
For killer depends how I feel my games will go mainly Franklin's or lightborn if there's more then one flashlight but Franklin's sometimes devour.

Came here to say this. I'm not about to play the game for half the BP when the grind is the way it is. I only have 3 perk slots available because these are always on

Kindred and Open Hand or WGLF with Prove Thyself
Killer is normally Surge and Sloppy but will sometimes run Ruin and Discordance

I don't have a perk that I feel like I always need on killer but if I had to choose I would go for BBQ.
For survivor I always run DS, I almost never play without.

I'm a killer main but I don't consider any perks to be "must haves". In fact I just Prestige my killers when they hit 50 to reset them and play with what I get, it kind of forces me to play with things I might otherwise not consider. Obviously some perks are better than others, but I've never been tempted to try and binge the bloodweb for a specific perk, there's plenty of decent perks to choose from so there's no particular reason to drill down for a specific one.

Killer = corrupt intervention, I genuinely feel naked without it
Survivor = borrowed time, again I feel naked without it even though it's for my teammates, if I get unhooked without BT I sigh bcuz it's like damn ok

Bbq for killer to get the extra bloodpoints.
For survivor it'd be Calm Spirit just to spite Doctor, Pinhead, and Huntresses with Iron Maiden.
0 -
BBQ or pain res on killer
Kindred always on survivor

mine is personally corrupt/shadowborn on killer because im addicted and iron will/ ds on surv because dont like surv noises and cba being tunnelled

BBQ and WGLF. The bp gains are just abysmal without them.

I don't like running hugely meta perks, but on survivor Iron Will, simply because unlike any other perk in the game it opens up avenues for plays that simply don't exist otherwise. There's nothing worse than outplaying a killer in chase, only to have your survivor to choose that moment to moan loudly and pull them right back onto you.
These days I don't play killer without Franklin's Demise. Items in general have huge potential in matches, and being able to shut down strong things like medkits early, or remove the constant irritation of a flashlight, or have a saboteur be unable to retry their saboutage after you hit them is a great advantage. It's also amazing just how stupidly some players will play in order to go back for their dropped item.

Theres a hidden stamina mechanic I think, the more you run the louder your breathing and moans are (in actual volume, not in % so perks that reduce it dont really affect it). If you've dropped the killer stop running and crouch to quieten.
Of course some of the survivors are loud as ######### anyway.

There's no stamina as far as I've ever observed, but crouching reduces your injured noises by 50%.
That doesn't matter much when you play against killers who sound lady-of-the-night and can hear the slightest noise nearby.
1 -
If ytou listen after running for a bit your character breaths heavier. I think it affects injured noises too. The stamina doesnt alter your speed, just your noise.

If you want a 5th secret perk slot with iron will tier 2 play as Ace Visconti

bamboozle and I can't believe I'm saying this but....
self care

Killer - Enduring (I'm addicted)
Survivor - Head On (it's just my favourite all time perk).
0 -
Lethal pursuer and Windows of Opportunity.

Survivor: DS
Killer: BBQ

I use BBQ on everyone because I'm always starved on bp. I really love Fire Up but it's still underpowered. Maybe if it was like 6%?
0 -
BT - If there's a camper you both actually have a chance to get away with this perk.
BBQAC - I get kinda lost without it and it's a really good snowball perk anyway. Plus, double BP.
0 -
Killer: STBFL and/or Pain Resonance.
Survivor: DS and/or WGLF.

Since face-camping has no counterplay by survivors unless they carry Decisive Strike or their teammate plays Borrowed Time, survivors are kind of forced to take Decisive Strike or Borrowed Time.
