WHY Is Everybody Using THIS PERK All Of The Sudden?

It kinda shocked me, when I found out that that this killer perk was so unpopular and suddenly went trending among the Killer Perks.
Surveillance has been a perk that has been rising in popularity among the community for quite some while now.
When "The Pig" was originally released on 23 January 2018, the perk Surveillance saw a short spike in % used in killer builds for the first few months. After most players had tested it out and concluded it wasn't that strong, it saw a gradual decrease in use over a couple of months.

But this number is now rising. Why?
When I originally did research on why killers had suddenly decided to run this perk so often despite not seeing that many of them in my own games (In Europe) I did not understand the giant peak of usage that the perk has enjoyed since the start of September.

(Average statistic shared among all Platforms, including PC)

I order to understand the increasingly trending perk, and why you haven't seen it in many of your games (For Europeans and Americans alike). The initial peak in February is easy to understand, as Pig was released at the end of January, thus under-representing how many players used it that month. But in order to understand the second and more visible peak, it's important to look at the Regional Statistics.

When it comes to the popularity of this perk, you'll discover that not much has changed, for the North- and South American, African and European region. The spike shown in the first chart is completely caused by user-behaviour in Asia, and in particularly: India, making up around 80% of the surveillance users in Asia.

So why is Surveillance so popular in this Region? Is there a difference in the Game Build that changes the strength of the perk Surveillance?
I discovered that there IS a difference in the Dead By Daylight copy of the game sold in India in contrast to southern and western countries.
In the Indian Copy of the game, upon starting the game, every killer has automatically equipped Surveillance in their first perk slot. In order to remove it you have to manually go to the Perk Tab and deselect it.

If we look at the increase of growth in popularity of this perk, then soon this perk may surpass the currently most used perk: Self-Care and claim the number 1 spot.

Thus if you are still confused about why so many people so suddenly use this perk, if it has been buffed directly or indirectly and/or whether you should include it in your build?;

Nope, don't bother! The perk is still pretty bad.

    It's a lie.
    The currently popular perk in India is Spies From The Shadows.

    Guys, it’s pretty obvious that all of these “statistics” are fake and that this is bait.
