What is with all the spirit hackers?
Met three today. 2 matches same name. Last one was different person I think. They also had twitch charm.
I dunno why am I getting this many in a single day today. What gives?

The Spirit bots are like more than a year old, not sure why all of a sudden people are running into them more often.
Probably a DBD account seller set up a bot farm during the free BP for logins, they sell the accounts and the quicker they can max out all the killers and survs they can sell for more and quicker on the account markets.
A specific region is really big in this market

With stacked addons she is the fastest map traversal killer. In the end it doesn't matter what killer it is. Cheaters can end the game with one button press.

that doesnt change the fact that there just are a lot of spirit cheaters. like the "best" spirit in EU was exposed for being a cheater and theres a hell of a lot of subtle cheaters that use her because it's very hard to prove (thanks to a high skill ceiling)

There's cheaters across the whole game, but let's just generalize Spirit into being the main villain. If it's hard to prove, how do you even know it is a cheater when you go up against her?

If it's hard to prove, how do you even know it is a cheater when you go up against her?
Because there are just some subtle things that seem suspicious but aren't damning on their own- just being slightly quicker at loops, slightly too good at finding people, seemingly having the effects of 5 perks but you can't be too sure you aren't just making things up. However they all add together to create something that's virtually certain, not 100% but almost there.
And sadly, she just is the most popular killer for bots currently. Objectively, looking at everything I could find (me myself personally) she just is the most likely to be a bot on a purely statistical level.

It's the people that don't play Spirit at all to know how fast she should catch up with certain add ons that assume this stuff.

This spirit was not subtle. She always had below 100 bp's and wiggle metter was never filling up. She zoomed across the map always knowing where everyone was and had all the perks on.
I was messaged by a fellow on the same platform who encountered them too today with the same experience.

And also I always thought she was fine, I even played her back in the day. I don't have anything against her, not that it matters. I even disagree with the nerf.

Btw, I also faced a spirit with all perks. Speed phase. After every hook someone was already hit in less that one sec. That have to be a bot hacker or just a human hacking? It doesn't matter though. It was hacking.

Spirit won't get nerfed because of cheaters. No need to go full defense mode about it. Its actually better for you if they are called out as cheaters than legit.

The point is I encountered 3 of them on a single day, commented on it, and you said I am generalising spirit by doing that because you are obsessed with her.

If they are viewed as legit then she would be viewed as overpowered and be changed. If its a cheater it would be viewed simply as a cheater than an overpowered killer.

It's no surprise the botters are picking mostly spirit for their antics
She has high movement speed in her power and the survivors can't see it meaning survivors have limited information to react to. The bots have basically perfect tracking so it adds up
A human spirit player can make mistakes, have limited information or be outplayed. Bots have essentially perfect tracking so none of that factors into it

I definitely get what you’re saying in the OP though, cheaters do suck. I guess I should’ve been getting mad at the people cheating ruining her rep rather than at you, so that was another big mistake on my part.

The reason for picking Spirit is simple, because you can’t physically see what she’s doing so there is no pinpoint evidence that she is a bot.
Every other killer you could see what they are doing. You can clearly tell if a Trapper or Myers is a bot but Spirit is invisible. You cannot physically see her while she is phasing so it is harder for people to come to the conclusion that it’s a bot.
Even then you can use clues to tell if she’s a bot. Looking at the end game screen and seeing that she doesn’t have Cherry Blossom yet still always knew your precise location and immediately swinging out of phase when you produced zero audio cues is very suspicious. Same goes with how fast she catches up and she doesn’t have a movement speed add-on.
Plus you can tell human reactions and movements compared to that of a bot.
It’s a shame really because she’s my most played killer and now she has the stigma of being a bot 💀

I think this could be worse than usual hackers. They should address this.

The bots will advertise botting in endgame chat so you can tell if you're on PC either way (not sure if they all do it though)

Now that I’ve been more educated about the situation, I’m feeling so heartbroken right now that Spirit is being used as a bot ruining other’s experiences. All I’ve wanted is for her to be a universally fun killer but of course something’s gotta stand in the way of that. I really hope BHVR sorts this out fast!
