Anniversary Chapter Expectations
So, I'm pretty new to the game, having only been here since November 2021, and I've never been through the anniversary event before, so I'd just like to know what to expect? People seem to be getting really, really hyped about the possibility of the upcoming content.
When should we expect to see Anniversary Announcements, what should we expect and when will we see it all in-game?
Personally, for the Anniversary, I'd like to see: A new licensed chapter (Slenderman would be my choice), New cosmetics for chapters that don't have many like Halloween, a short-time Stranger Things return that allows people to buy it again during for a limited time, and hopefully some cosmetic rewards.

Anniversary stream and Steam PTB end of May/beginning of June with full release around three weeks later. a new chapter, killer, survivor and map probably. Last three were licensed but that’s not guaranteed. An event similar to lunar new year or winter event, where you can also unlock some cosmetics. A live stream talking about upcoming stuff (won’t reveal any licenses or characters except for the anniversary chapter), hopefully a roadmap for the year. Some community contests.

Rumours hint towards an original chapter for this anniversary, but nothing is confirmed at this point. New cosmetics for older licensed are very unlikely, but possible generally anytime? Though they require new negotiations with the licenseholder etc.
Stranger Things will not come back like that. And if it ever comes back I hope it will stay… but I wouldn’t expect it ever again. This is up to Netflix and BHVR, but I don’t see either side to be okay with a short time come back

As long as they don't do the snowman thing again - good. I like an event when you have something to interact with, but that thing shouldn't competitively break the game.

The 5th year anniversary TEASER was released on 15th April so we can probably expect a little clue within the next 10 days or so.

Thank you for this overview! And I'm totally coping with the whole loss of Stranger Things right now, and praying that with S4, Netflix will just be its usual, greedy self and try to re-negotiate a deal that allows DBD to sell the ST content again, but I honestly doubt it'll happen, sadly.

If, *ahem* certain information that rhymes with 'creeks' is to be believed, the Anniversary killer is going to be quite special.
It was the biggest boom DbD has ever experienced last year, so I think the devs are going to be focused quite heavily on this one.

Interesting! I swear I heard somewhere that there's a possibility of it being an original Killer this year, but we'll have to see. Anniversary Killer is said to always be a pretty big reveal. However, if they reveal that ST Chapter is returning either temporarily or for a longer time, I'll be very very excited.
