Technician is plain horrible
Technician is one of the worst survivor perks in the game. I see only two types of players ever using it. Noobs who are not learning how to do skill checks because their location isn't given away convincing them to get better at them and trolls who combine it with bond to sit on a gen with someone and regress the gen tremendously. Both of the player types using it are people you don't want to use it. Can it please be changed to work more like bite the bullet?

I had a Feng blow FOUR checks. All my beautiful progress.....

At the very least the additional regression penalty needs to be removed. If the perk is designed for new players, then there is absolutely zero justification for making it punish them more than if they weren’t using it, when they are the ones who are most likely to miss skill checks anyway.
In reality though it needs a much more substantial buff than just that.

Full rework- working on a generator is silent (only for you), missing skillchecks has a 1% penalty, does not give off notification when skillcheck is missed. All I can think of.

My friend has to run it due to a disability that makes quick time events really hard for him. This is his favorite game ever so he just deals with the fact he needs the perk and only will ever have 3 perk slots. That being said I really dread the ocassional times we swf getting a gen to like 90% and you just see the percent drop a bunch if he misses.
I honestly would like to see the penalty be dropped - I think it is a little harsh.

And this was a perk that was buffed, which plays into why survivors always use the same 6 perks.

All they had to do was, "while repairing a gen it is silent".
Boom. That's it. No downsides. No stipulations on the amount of survivors. That easy.

I use it for sneaky gen repairs, it lets me slap blast mine on under a killer's nose

I'll never understand why they deemed Technician powerful enough to have a downside. The item that gives a similar effect is a yellow in the survivor toolbox options, and the brown toolbox makes your skill checks smaller. Taking up an entire perk slot with so many options...you gave it a downside?
Whomst.

They fear making all perks equal. When all perks are made equal, those who cling to their crutches shall be judged.

90% of survivor perks are useless. This is one of many.
