Why not give your "original created" Ghostface a mobile phone related power?
Ghostface should have an ability where he can make one of the Survivors mobile phones ring while out of chase. It is very loud and will give away your position each time it rings. The Survivors will have an animation that takes a few seconds to have to stop the phone from ringing so they don't get caught as easily. Making Ghostface just a rehash of Michael Myers is very lazy and uninspired to say the least. The Survivor having to turn the phone off in the match would slow things like Generators down some and help with his 1v4 pressure which he has almost none of, especially in out door maps.
I think its a travesty that Ghostface has absolutely NOTHING to do with phones when in the movies, him calling people is all over the place.. What do you guys think?

Quite simple: the "Ghostface" killer from "Scream" and "The Ghost Face" from Dead By Daylight are two completely separate characters. In the lore, the DBD killer "The Ghost Face" (known as Danny "Jed Olsen" Johnson) has a lot to do with a camera, and very little to do with a phone.

BHVR licensed the mask from Fun World rather than the movie franchise so it gets the special footnote of being the only Licensed Original character addition to the game.

They can easily circumvent that. The SCREAM movies didn't PATENT the "killer calls them on the phone" idea. xD Why do people even respond with such obvious answers. Everyone knows they did that. It has no hampering on them doing it for THEIR OWN ORIGINAL VERSION...sheesh..

they probably won't, but here's a build that could be kinda lore accurate:
Perks:
Plaything (phone calls distract them and create a secondary objective)
Call of brine/deathbound/Tinkerer (and/or) - gives away their location.

Oh I know they won't. That would actually be a decent thing. According to the people above. It's okay to copy the "stalking elements" from the Scream movies for their original creation, but not the "phone stuff"... Give me a break.. xD

His original mori had him using a flip-phone to take the survivors picture instead of a camera
however I imagine that came before they had wrote the lore of him being an actual photographer and article writer, so it's probably much more likely they changed the mori to better represent that.

Yep that's neat and all. I still think it should be part of his power.

That is great! Other than that he is just an amateur's attempt at a copy/paste Myers... Whew...

Quite simple, actually. Here's what you wrote:
"I think its a travesty that Ghostface has absolutely NOTHING to do with phones when in the movies, him calling people is all over the place.."
Let' s zoom in on that a bit:
"has absolutely NOTHING to do with phones when in the movies"
Still not clear? One more time.
"has absolutely NOTHING to do with phones when in the movies"
So, why did we reply with "such obvious answers" if "everyone [knew] they did that"? Because, as is evidenced from your own post, not everyone knew they did that. You included. Because you referenced the Scream movies. That have no relevance to the character of Danny "Jed Olsen" Johnson.
Your post creates an intrinsic error that you're trying- and failing- to ignore. You go into this with the expectation of Ghostface from Scream, when The Ghost Face from DBD has absolutely zero relevance to it whatsoever.
Why give him a stalking power and not a phone one? Because that's in his lore, that's his character. He's a photographer and independent reporter who specialises in inside scoops on "The Ghost Face Murder Cases". Nothing more, nothing less.

Incredibly BA idea.

Sorry. You aren't getting anywhere with this. I'm not the only one who thinks this. xD Just the only person to make a thread about it for some time it seems. It CAN be easily done. In order to see different view points, you have to be less of a "negative nancy" I'm afraid. I always do these threads knowing most of the people that view them see the glass as half empty instead of full. It is to be expected. Regardless of being beaten around the bush, it should still be in the power in some form.

They made all that lore up. They can make up some more and add it in. Nothing is final apparently.

Jesse, what the ######### are you on about
The only thing in that comment that held any relevance to my own was the final sentence

IKR... If only I was on the dev team as an idealist. One thing is for sure. DH and NOED would be gone lmao..

And that is all it needed. Get over yourself.

me quoting a meme means i... need to get over myself?
You asked a question. I gave an answer. You're expecting something relating to Scream, that's not what the designers went for- that's literally the only reason why he doesn't. Because they didn't want to give him one, as simple as that. And they didn't have to, because again the character in DBD and the character in Scream are separate.
Why does it have to be phones? Why not something relating to newspapers, or cameras, or sofa cushions?

You gave a cryptic and negative answer that asked for an obvious response. xD It has to be phones because the consumers say it does.

Borrow from the puzzle box idea and leave a dropped phone somewhere in the trail. If the survivor finds and presses the redial button then the Killer will be the one who gets pinged every few seconds (from the phone call) until he stops to answer. Upon answering, the Killer will get Killer Instinct on the Caller and the Caller will be exposed for a limited time.
Giving survivors a way to strategically mess with the Killer and the Killer an opportunity for an easy down if the survivor poorly chose when /where to call or is a bad looper.
Killer can’t pick up the phone, but maybe he could smash it to take it out of the game temporarily.

I hear they've been hiring, go take whatever your ideas and skillset is and see if they'll hire you.
Good luck with that, seriously.
With that out of the way, you're being quite hostile over this. I get wanting movie references for Ghostface, but look at it from the other side for a second. We have a situation where a character has been created that is very close to another character from a licensed franchise. So close in fact that potential references could invite legal problems if whatever company or script writer with legal claim to the Scream license decides they want to be lawsuit happy. That situation can get very messy and be very damaging. Similar issues have come about before and it isn't easy to fight these claims.

Whatever works. As long as we get some type of phone mechanic in there!
1 -
Again...thinking negatively gets us nowhere. Legal mumbo jumbo wouldn't happen. And no, not hostile, passionate is the word.

Passion and hostility are not mutually exclusive and that 'legal mumbo jumbo' you think wouldn't happen is quite important.
I find it concerning that you consider plain facts as negative thinking and see positive thinking as being the same as your viewpoint.
1 -
I find it concerning there are people who instantly want to demolish any creative thinking and instead think of how it wouldn't work. Sorry charlie. Our minds cannot meet in the middle. I appreciate the effort though.

Why should they give him a power like that? Just because they CAN give him a power surrounding phones doesn't mean they want to.
1 -
I didn't say they wanted to. It's an idea. I am saying they should. That is all. If you don't think so, why even add a message in..seriously..
