why does your killer sometimes refuse to drop the survivor?

This can be extremely annoying. sometimes it will drop immediately when you press drop, and other times you can spam drop and you wont until the survivor wiggles free. This is terible as when you attempting to hook someone and the whole squad is BB you, when i press drop i need to drop. I just had a match against a bully who wanted to do nothing but deny me hooks without bothering to do gens after they got a 3 done. I managed to 3k them but THREE times, when i would try to hook someone 2-3 of them would bum rush me to bb and i would get stunned and lose the hook because the game would not let me drop.

Very frustrating.

I know, imagine if that E key would lag like R key does sometimes for killers....

Oh man, I always plant my feet, squint my eyes and clench my teeth before pressing and holding the drop button on my controller.

Its the only way for consistent drops.

I've noticed with killer when I'm trying to drop a survivor there's a delay. There's also a delay when I try to drop my item on the ground as survivor. It's fine if I'm switching items using pick up but if I'm just dropping an item it does the same delay as when I try to drop a survivor as killer.

reeeeally needs to be corrected in imo. sure, thats a very situational thing, but it matters alot when the situation arises.

It's a rough feeling, especially since the point of view prevent's you from seeing why sometimes, the drop action got changed at some point so you couldn't drop survivors outside of the escape zone (don't think it was the actual reason, but was a noticed change), this sort of changed the space requirements when you try to drop a survivor to have ample space on your left (not sure if another survivor can prevent it by standing within that zone), but that's mainly the most common case for it.

Othertime's generally fall to the auto-escape percentage that was added when killer's woud dribble to avoid old DS, or generally as stated the game just doesn't listen and ignores the action and you started spamming the key for 3 seconds.

From what I've seen, the drop location has to fit the hitbox of the downed survivor or you won't be able to drop. There's no feedback that this is the problem though. If you're having difficulty dropping, try to move away from obstacles on your left side.

I've never confirmed it, but I'd guess it's possible that body blocking survivors could interfere with your ability to drop too. That would be one of the most common situations to drop someone.

From what I can tell, this usually happens if you are too close to something that has collision, don't know why that's the case, the devs could probably quite easily make it so dropping the survivor just moves you away from the collision zone.

either too close to a wall or trying to drop them off an edge which you can still do but only if they wiggle out.

The survivors body blocking you can get in the way of dropping a survivor. Environmental objects can also block you from dropping.

It sucks. Survivors can stand over a downed survivor to revive them, so I don't understand why the killer is prevented from dropping the survivor on the ground below them. It's frustrating. If survivors have shown that they're in the mood to body block, it's best to try to bait them out as much as possible by pretending like you're going to pick someone up. Or pick someone up, watch for the survivors to start bum rushing you, then drop the survivor before the others can get into position and go after them. Trying to drop someone once others are already body blocking is pain.

If the wiggle meter is at 75% or higher and the killer try's to drop the survivor they auto escape, i believe the amount of wiggle progress gained from being dropped is 25%.

i haven’t seen this discussed on the forum before, but it’s definitely a thing. Happened to me a few times today where I wanted to drop survivor but it didn’t work first time I pressed the button. If survivors get instantaneous effect for “press E to outplay”, then killers should have the benefit of instant drop as soon as drop button is pressed.

You were probably too close to the wall, if it would have let you drop the survivor wouldve no-clipped through the wall.

You need to have enough room to drop the survivor.

It won't also drop them during a sideway strafe due to wiggling. It will drop in between those.

    Lastly, that's not bullying.

I've tried to do this so many times to avoid a pallet stun or a flashlight save, and I couldn't do it because the game wouldn't let me. I made the right play, but the game held me back.
