Has anyone ever thought of a Lich Killer?

You know, Undead Warlocks that usually use Necromancy.

Been getting back to Elder Scrolls and my favorite lore section is Necromancy, Liches, and Daedra.

Got me thinking on how awesome it would be to have a Magic based killer who is also a Lich

Could have a 2 power skill. One is he is able to use long and short range attacks. Being able to throw a blue flame from his staff or create a rune trap that could give survivors a status or injure them. 2nd power would be to reanimate ai skeletons via ritual station that is generated through out the map.

I just love the idea of a DND Lich in DBD.

Could be a cool concept but it would have to be a more horror and less fantasy approach to one imo

Well maybe, Entity pulls characters from different realms so a Magic killer could be possible.

Few good examples are The Lich from Adventure time and The Horned King from the Black Cauldron. They are fantasy characters but they are terrifying non of the less.

Liches are the best in my opinion. Mostly in Elder scrolls since they never fully once the ritual is complete. They just resurrect after a while.

My DnD days are far (was it 2nd edition already when I stopped?) but the Lich has two essential caracteristics.

    • Being an archmage, it is almost certain death.
    • It's one vulnerability is its phylactery that, once found, allows to destroy him.

How would this fit in the constraint of a killer without losing most of its substance?

Not me thinking about the Lich from adventure time 🤡

    Perfect Solution

Does not have to be 100% DND related. In elder scrolls once the ritual is complete the Phylactery destruction does not matter anymore to kill the Lich.

Tons of different version of Liches in Fantasy media so does not have to fully revolve around DND

I understand the usual reasons that spawn a diluted ersatz. But then it's only a caster with a skeleton appearance. Calling them a Lich is like calling a cat a lion.

But if this killer idea is mostly about the aesthetics and a cool name, by all means, yes, it should be pretty cool.

    Not really.

In WOW we have a guy called Lich King even though he is not an actual Lich. In adventure time "The Lich" is just the embodiment of evil from a comet that wiped the Earth. Voldemort from Harry Potter is considered a Lich due to how he split his soul.

You can't call anything undead or something a Lich unless it fits the basic requirements of calling a "Lich".

If BHVR based on Elder Scrolls and DND then it would be a Lich. Also have to say Elder Scrolls Liches are lot better in my opinion since it dives deep into it but also they are more powerful compared to DND.

Would recommend reading about Dragon Priest Hevnoraak or......Mannimarco even though that guy is just a joke when you compare what Hevnoraak's power could have been if the Dragonborn did not kill him.

    Not really what?

The WoW guy falls into the ersatz category.

I don't know adventure time, looking at the pictures from Google, I don't think I would even consider having an opinion about it.

Voldemort certainly fits the bill for a Lich.

    Yes, agreed.

I honestly cannot recall where there is a Lich in Elder Scrolls. How are they different? DnD has series of books so the lore is quite extensive.

Thanks for the suggestion but I've not been into that stuff for a long long time. 30 years maybe. I still recall some of it fondly though.

Lich is similar to DND but highly more powerful depending the ritual and the goals.

Once the ritual is complete, the Lich is basically invincible if it was the phylactery ritual. It has to be destroyed before it's complete since the phylactery is just to hold the soul during the ritual and once it's done the phylactery is no longer needed.

There are many ways in Elder Scrolls to become a Lich but the Phylactery is the hardest one but the best one since there is only few ways to defeat the Lich like capturing it or destroying it with a powerful relic.

Other ways include alchemic ritual which Mannimarco did some how and retained his skin but he is not the first born Lich if someone says that. Another is to rip people's soul into you while harnessing a powerful relic but best one is a holy one that has been corrupted.

In Elder scrolls, there are lot of ways to become a lich but Phylactery is the best option and if you did it like Hevnoraak who slumbered for centuries while his undead servants feed him life energy and had his blood/organs in jars, you would be more powerful than the god of creation once its complete. Sad thing is it can never be recreated the same way Hevnoraak did and he made his research only readable by him and would kill anyone who tried.

Main point is if a DBD killer Lich was based on Elder Scrolls, the Lich could be as powerful as the Entity.

[Ps Elder Scrolls lore is addicting]

Well, could be an inspired chapter tbh.

Good vs Evil concept would be interesting. A killer that craves the death of everyone and a Hero that tries to save everyone.
