dead hard isnt that powerfull against basic attacks
is a nice perk and all but it isnt that powerfull against basic attacks
get very close to the survivor, wait till they use dead hard, hit them
very easy to counter
is quite powerfull towards the nurse though & towards hillbillys chainsaw
& with other killers
but with basic attacks is not that powerfull
is still nice but it isnt that powerfull against basic attacks

Bait

Just no it’s the most devastating against those kind of killers

I’m gonna take the bait on this one.
dead hard is beyond OP if used correctly which is 90% of the time. Dead Harding to a safe pallet or window can extend the chase for waaaaaayyyy too long even though the survivor messed up

Great point. So how about we change Dead Hard to only make you immune to normal attacks, and leave you vulnerable to every killer power? Since it's not that strong against normal attacks, that seems like a fair trade-off.

It is well established the moment you say "just b8 it out," you lose all credibility in your argument. DH into nothing in an open space is of course terrible. It's common sense when you're in a bad zone with the killer on your tail.

We all know this, but it’s apparent that many (like some in this very thread) seem to think that the only time it is ever used it WhEN YoU DeAd HaRd fOR DiSTaNCE.

People think it only ever gets used for distance because that’s it’s most common use at high MMR

It’s not the only time it is used though.
It is used when it is needed to be used, sometimes that is in very unfortunate moments and set ups with nothing.
The narrative in these forums is that anyone who has DH wins which is not the case.
I am in high MMR as killer with over 6.8k hours and I can guarantee you that people who run DH get out as much as someone with SB, if not less because they tend to play way too greedy.

I mean, no, but nobody complains about Dead Hard because the survivor Dead Harded a basic attack and got hit with another basic attack five seconds later. Complaining about that is like complaining about a baby Nurse - awesome tool, derpy handler. When people complain about Dead Hard, it's because it was used to extend a chase 30+s by reaching a resource that the survivor wouldn't have made otherwise.
Now, the thing people do forget is that good survivors greed pallets because they have Dead Hard and they would have thrown the pallet a loop earlier without the safety net, so it's not quite as binary as "I would have gotten them here if they didn't have Dead Hard."

Where do you get 30 seconds? That is not fact to every match. Unless you have proof that it is.
Of course you’re not gonna complain when it doesn’t mean anything. That goes with anything about this game. Doesn’t mean it is broken though.
Also not every survivor who greeds a pallet are doing it because they know they can make it, in many situations they expect you to whiff and many fall for that. I don’t.
You can loop a survivor in a way they don’t expect it to out-position them because that is a thing too.

Didn't I just say that when people complain about Dead Hard, it's because it was actually good and meaningfully extended the chase? You just acknowledged that. So no, of course it's not every match. If Dead Hard got that much value every time, then the killer role would actually be as hyperbolically vacant as people like to threaten every time something survivor-sided goes through.
Same with 'good survivors' implying running with a plan versus Dead Harding as a panic button, but sure, next time I'll be more specific when I'm discussing what people mean when they complain.

Meanwhile, others like some in this very thread don't seem to be aware that it's best used for distance. :P

No I am aware.
I just don’t blow it out of proportion like others do. Because it is not that detrimental in my matches.

One's mileage may certainly vary. I'd say that proclaiming that it always equates to a third health state is equally as ill-informed as proclaiming that dealing with it is as simple as baiting it out.

While consisting of less than 1% of the perk pool, Dead Hard is responsible for more than 60% of the 'outplays'
