Dear console players, how often do you get post-game messages?
I’m a PlayStation player who’s been playing this game for around a year now, and I can say I’ve been messaged like 4 or 5 times in that amount of time. How often do others get messages after a match and what kinda do you get?

I used to get hatemail every other game.
Pretty horrific stuff too.

It used to be around at least once every session for me before crossplay. Or maybe every other session. It wasn't that rare I'll just say that.
Now I have a lot of other console and pc players in my lobbies rather than fellow ps4/5 players so it's pretty rare.
Edit: Most of the time when I do get messages, I get wholesome GG messages rather than salt.

All the time actually here's the last hatemail I got

Not super often but way more often than any game I've ever played
Probably...once a week I get actual messages from people. Maybe twice a week if we're including the odd GG or something of that nature. If it's hate mail, it's almost always survivors to me as a killer. If it's GG, it's a healthy mix of both.
So it's still not very often but far more often than any other game, which is like....MAYBE I'd get a single message my entire time playing.

Not often. Maybe once or twice a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Used to get them much more often before crossplay. I have a decent collection of hateful messages from other, toxic Survivors. I rarely get hateful messages from killers, mostly some ggs or messages about farming. Lots of people just trash talking me for a small mistake or for not being on their skill level or just simply not playing the way they want me to due to lack of communication because I soloQ.
I had one person tell me I was useless to the team because I was the only one unhooking and healing people and I wasn't on generators as much as they were and they ended up refusing to save me off the hook and then sent me that.

I'm set to friends only, so never.

They seem like they would be a lovely person to meet in real life. ///sarcasm///

On the rare occasions of me being killer, I get toxic/hate messages pretty much after every game. When I’m survivor, not so much but often and they typically consist of “gg”

I get hate message for not even trying hard as killer, I just want to land 3 hatchets for my daily ritual and get 4 stacks of bbq. Its always swf too.
I remember there was 4 megs with the same cosmetics and then one them called me a trash tunneler because I don’t know who I’m chasing wasn’t even trying to kill them. I just couldn’t find anyone else

Too often

Most of the time no response as a surv when I send a GG, but some answer to "Tryin for adept?" or thanking them for letting the last of us out by hatch.
Now playing killer, that seems to uncork the butt-plugs keeping all that toxic nonsense inside...

My messages are set to friends-only, so thankfully, pretty much never.
I had never played online games before I picked up DBD. I had a match in my first week of playing the game prior to crossplay (playing with a friend, who was also new). After not going into the basement of The Game to rescue somewhen when a Bubba was Insidious camping it (my friend, also hooked in the basement, could see him and warned me not to come -- I'd seen enough of other people playing DBD to know that it would have been pointless to go down there), I escaped by hatch, and I promptly got a message from one of the other people in the basement telling me I was trash, to uninstall the game, and then to off myself (not all in that order, lol).
My friend quickly told me how to block off messages, and I've been blissfully playing without any of that nonsense since.

I try to message most PS4 killers that I come across, unless they were hard camping/tunnelling that is.
It doesn't matter if I escape or die or if the killer gets 0k or 4k I'll always drop them a message and 9 times out of 10 it seems to be much appreciated, I've had some good conversations through it, I think that playing killer is a thankless task so even if you get a 0k and have a really tough game its nice just to get something a little more than GG EZ.
As for messages received I've had a few not many considering the amount of time I've sunk into the game and most of the ones I do get are from other survivors who can't handle the fact that they lost, I had one just the other day when someone called me a "sad toxic idiot" after a few messages I found out that I was a "Sad toxic idiot" because I saved a Claudette who was on second hook while a David was half way recovered while slugged....not too sure how that makes me toxic lol

I lost count on it already.

Wow was it survivor or killer?

boil over 3 man teammates who were mad I failed a flashlight save

What does that even mean? Lmao

Before crossplay constantly.
Now I hardly ever see console players tbh they all seem to be pc. I do see the odd survivor on my platform and sometimes I get a message but 9/10 I only get messages as killer

It depends on how I play... If I tunnel and facecamp another psn user, it is about a 50/50 chance. Maybe more if I throw in some nodding or hook beating.
As a survivor? Only 3 times. All from some swf.

I once got tunneled out the game by a psn fellow and they messaged to say: sorry, I was being gen rushed hard.
I rarely get messages, I tend to send messages to teammates that have played well or tried to.
With killers, I honestly don't. If I escape, it sounds ironic, if I don't, it sounds ironic, so I just don't.

I'm a switch player so I can't get any messages. I did get a friend request from a fellow switch player though, which was nice

I play on PS4 as a survivor main. I get a message once every 20 or 30 matches. It's almost always from another survivor telling me what they dislike about how I played. I've noticed something about the survivors that feel the necessity to tell others how they should have played.....
They are almost always the same survivor that is completely oblivious to the fact the way they play makes them a killers best friend.

When I first started playing a few years ago I got about 10 in a week or so and then decided to change my settings to messages from friends only. That was on Xbox. Apparently it's okay to send toxic messages on Xbox as long as you dont swear.

7 times out of 10

I'm on PS4. When I started playing DBD I already had my messages turned off because of sore players in Destiny 2. Even though I had messages turned off I had a surprising amount of players in only DBD (both killers and survivors) that used a loophole to messages being turned off and that is to send a a friend request which allows you to send your angry message - no players from other games used this loophole. I ended up making my profile private/turning off friend requests to stop people from being able to use that loophole. I don't care what some random has to say about the game, they can go stew in their anger instead of taking it out on stranger.

I set mine to private because of dbd. When I started playing dbd a few years ago, I got 1-2 messages a day telling me to stick to the survivor rulebook. respect the 4%, don't hunt a surv that has just been saved, you're not allowed to place your traps on the exit gates, etc. sometimes I got insulted too...

I outright disabled messages on my console for a while because of how often I'd get nasty messages from random players after matches. Even now, I have things set to friends-only so that I don't have to deal with it anymore.
I've played a lot of games where hate-mail was a relatively common occurrence (R6: Siege, GTA Online, World of Tanks, etc), but DbD took the cake for sheer frequency. DbD hate-mail was usually a lot more aggressive too.

Every time when I meet xbox player. I screenshot and collect as reviews! xD

Same I received one in siege cause I couldn't get a kill. Majority is from dbd players.

At least 1 or 2 a day when I do play. Mostly just gg, and recently more nicer responses even when I lose or win lately. A few months ago it was toxic no matter which side won.
I also keep mine open for other games I play because DBD isn't the only game I play and this game was the only game I ever received toxic responses from. But like I said, the past week hasn't been like that.
