Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

The bloodweb should absolutely not be changed. Here's why.

The bloodweb to many people is an OG game mechanic that, this sounds ridiculous, has sentimental value. Especially to 2016, 2017 players like me. The bloodweb in dbd is a core game mechanic that if removed, many veteran players will leave.

Now the whole specualtion on bloodweb being changed is because of grind and new players having too much grind. I personally believe the grind is fine, but I do not have a job or time consuming activities unlike many other people so I do see what people are getting at. But mostly people want to reduce the grind of this game a substantial amount and I completly disagree with this. It's like some players expect to get to rank 1, p3 everyone and have every perk in the game in a month. It's ridiculous.

I wouldn't mind an addition to the bloodweb mechanic, but I beg for it not to be changed because it is essentially the face of dead by daylight and one of the most unique leveling systems in all of video games. I wouldn't mind an extra something though like a workshop where you can buy specific items and perks for a little bit more bloodpoints than usual. That would be a cool addition to dbd, but I really hope the web will not be change.

Overall I do not know if the devs are considering changing the bloodweb, but I really hope they are not. I have heard way to much speculation and I'm starting to worry. If a dev does read this post which I do not know if they do, I strongly encourage that bhvr thinks about how detrimental taking the bloodweb away will be to this game and especially the veteran players. Thank you.

I see what you mean getting p3 isn't that hard but getting the perks you want can be.I also don't want everything in 1 month.

yeah gonna be real, i havent been playing the game since 2018 to waste time clicking on nodes and seeing how badly RNG is going to screw me out of trying to put together a build and/or stock up on addons which completely change killer/survivor playstyles. Its extremely antiquated with how much content has been added since its inception, and the longer they wait the worse it gets.

We might as well bring back sabo hooks never returning, people being able to force crash each other's games, being able to hold survivors on the basement stairs hostage, and other similar good old flaws in the game "for the nostalgia"

Also, its a unique leveling system because tying long term progression to gatcha style random chance is unhealthy and designed as a means of forced player retention. It, by design, exploits people psychologically who are susceptable to sunk cost fallacies, likely half the reason people keep playing despite how much they actively dislike the game.

The entire blood web and grind needs a complete overhaul. I could care less if it gets gutted when getting every single perk on just one character and there's.... 55(?) characters in the game between killers and survivors.

The grind on this game worse than a mobile phone game.

I would gladly trade every other veteran of this game for a more palatable grind.

...The bloodweb is the face of DBD? What? The face of what everyone hates and gets frustrated about with DBD, maybe.

The bloodweb is old, clunky, and desperately needs some QoL features to streamline it, increase the ability to get perks you want, and weed out the chaff of the many useless offerings. Somehow I think I'll survive the changes to something I'm used to if it promises a better gameplay experience.

Pretty sure the concept of the bloodweb has always been hated

Hell wasn't it extremely slow when the game launched

They don't need to completely remove the bloodweb.

What we are asking for is to reduce how long it takes/how many bloodwebs we need (or how many points it takes to get through 1 bloodweb) in order to get the stuff we want, as well as removing some of the useless clutter it has to offer (eg. mist offerings, brown BP offerings that often aren't worth it, etc.). Prestige is also unrewarding as it stands and trading your inventory for 1 cosmetic doesn't feel worth it.

To be clear, I also don't want to have everything unlocked in 1 month. But it also shouldn't take thousands of hours of gameplay, nor should it take sometimes 1 million bloodpoints or more to get 1 specific perk that I'm looking for on a certain character.

And I really do not think that every veteran player wants to keep an ancient and outdated grind in the game any longer. The more characters you continue to add, the longer it takes to unlock everything and it's pretty clear that we're still going to consistently be getting new characters.

I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing 'Hallelujah.'

But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'.

I've hated the bloodweb since the first day I started playing this game. To be fair, I think if it does ever change it should be optional and those who want the original one can keep it. I hate having to go around the entity on top of also losing most of my items in matches.

Prestige 3 and everything unlocked? 600h in I would simply be happy with a couple of characters I enjoyed playing no prestige and everything unlocked... what the hell are you talking about?

I guess you are clueless of how monstrously large the grind is.

I just know as soon as I finish p3 all my killers they gonna reduce grind to no more perk tiers or something.

Over half way there, grinding Twins/Demo p3s right now
