The Hatch, continues to ruin games.

The more I play the more I realise how unfair the hatch is to the killer. It's probably the most broken function of the game right now. Hatch stand-offs can allow the survivor to literally go AFK until the killer hits them as long as they wear headphones or keep their sound up, where as the killer has to state at their screen for about 5-10 minutes waiting untill they attempt to kill the survivor. It's started making four kills impossible and it's getting to the point I physically get to angry to play killer because I'm cheated of a win every game I get three kills, which is most games. This post is ranty but it's true. Even if the killer finds the hatch first the survivor has won.

EDIT:
The problem with the hatch is that it is easily used by the least effective survivor, and most likely will be. Some games it's fair, and most killers won't be annoyed if someone escapes through the hatch when someone has dced or it's a three man game. But, when the team is good and everyone's doing there job the hatch becomes a cheap escape for a killer doing well.

First "It's not impossible" just ######### difficult, even if you slug the final survivor will most likely hide in a locker as far away from you as possible for two minutes, jumping on gens for 3 seconds then going back to hiding.
Second, don't try to undermine someone's point by underhandedly insulting them. Getting annoyed at a slow paced game (or any game you play lots) is understandable. Like doing anything if you put lots of effort into something and it fails it's agrivating, especially if you had no way to effect that reason.

Now get your toxic survivor ass out.

I'm sorry, but when I have people on my team literally 2 hit within 3 seconds which I'm not even sure how that's possible and then 2 dc and i STILL get 2 gens done myself, I'm pretty sure I deserve the hatch and if not I will be dc'ing myself because you don't deserve the kill.

Implying someone has mental health issues of some kind, is definitely and insult. Anyway 4 kills is the equivalent to a survivor escaping. The killer gets a very large bonus to his bloodlines when he kills all survivors, same as when a survivor escapes. Doing two generators should not give any reward, it can literally be done in the time one chase can be against a killer like the trapper who has no chase potential.

    He didn't insult.
4k should be a rare occasion just like 4 survivors escaping a match. They have done 2 generators and one way or another you weren't able to stop them. They deserve the hatch.
    Get over with it.

Honestly a lot of the times the ones who did nothing get the hatch which is bs

@purebalance First off if your ever in that situation where two people die and DC within the first minute or so and you can still pull of two generators, yes you deserve to escape, you had bad team mates not your fault. But what about the game where it's 4 max prestiges against you. They gen rush and the killer has to try his hardest to kill your team mates. The hatch is a good mechanic for making up for them bad team mates, for the times it isn't your fault your gonna loose. But when it is the survivors fault and they should loose then they should die and shouldn't have a free escape.

this is honestly very true, however... don't punish the ones who actually work for it just because some lazy people get to take advantage of their hard work sometimes.

I've had quite a few games where I worked my ass off while my teammates were off doing gods-know-what, and the only way I survived was through the hatch... in my view, if I did gens, broke totems, made a rescue, avoided/escaped killer... I earned that escape.

The hatch is a bad mechanic, say instead of the hatch the Devs implemented a different mechanic such as.
*If a survivor leaves before two generator are done one (or even two) is randomly picked and is instantly done* it balanced it out slightly*
That could make three man games easier than four man ones, but there would be no cheap escape for the survivor.

There should be a quota be it points or whatever for you to be able to use the hatch. I wouldn't say at least 1-2 gen done because you could be kiting the killer for 10 minutes and they take that long to do 2 and then when they lose interest in you and kill the others you should still be able to get it. If you hid in a locker all game, you don't deserve it.

at the very least I think achieving something like the equivalent to 1 full gen (not necessarily the same gen, but cumulative) would be fair enough...

although, I do think I like your idea better... a certain point threshold would show that you've contributed, regardless of the method.

People need to stop blaming survivors for their problems. The more you tell yourself every single one is toxic the more you'll start to believe it. I've worked so hard to be amicable in game as a survivor only to be curb-stomped and mocked by the killer and teammates alike. Am I against the mechanic? No. Does it need some changes? Absolutely. I think most of us here agree with you on that front.

Staring at a screen waiting for someone to swallow their pride isn't fun for either side. An alternative that is fair for both and has a win condition that isn't determined by a waiting game would be amazing. Expecting to get a 4k/escape everytime is why we have such a large entitlement problem within the community, and many times the reason we have said standoffs. The opposing side isn't there to be an ego-booster to make you feel like you have the upper hand.

I understand your frustration, and I'm sure everyone here has gone through the same situation regardless of what side of the coin they're on. However, there's no need to feel angry, there's many things to be happy about in this game. The intense rounds that make it worthwhile and new content are always great to experience. I know if I start getting tilted, I take a break. I'm sure taking some time to clear your head and relax would do wonders for you.

I just can't not laugh when I see people whining and saying that 1 guy getting out using hatch , which is not even a "win" tbh , "ruined" their game xD
Like , brah , they didn't get out through the gate, and you killed 3/4. You won.
Like a wise man once said - Why you heff to be mad? It's just a game.

Hatch sucks for sure, but most games I slug the 3rd to get the 4th. Doesn't work every time but if I've killed 3 survivors and the last guy happens to get the hatch that's still a win to me. I do believe there should be a point threshold or something that shows you contributed enough to deserve the hatch in the first place though. Hopefully one day they will figure out something that satisfies the community and we can stop talking about it.

Funny i was gonna say the same thing. Attacking the first person who disagrees with you because you feel you are entitled to a 4k. Maybe control your emotions.
