Is it me or...(yet another toxicity topic)
Does this community complain about every little thing oh my god. I thought Overwatch's community was more toxic? But no. This community takes the absolute whole chocolate cake!
If it's anything killer sided, survivor mains become angry. If it's anything survivor sided, killer mains become angry. Any nerf/buff? Complaint made. Perks are now suddenly toxic! Or wait, body blocking which is considered game mechanics are now considered toxic too. What!? You're using no one escapes death!? Toxic. Trash. Killer. (Even though I never even run this perk.) It's seriously terrible.
Not to mention the fact that this game is after all, an asymmetric game. It will never be 100% balanced. One side will always dominant the other.
"KILLERS ARE OP!!!" I thought the same thing too until I actually realized that survivors are the OP ones. There's some nasty little survivors out there too.
I have so many examples of this: I've seen survivors HELPING killers out sometimes by leading them and even POINTING to where the other survivor is, whether they're in a locker, doing a generator, or just hiding in general. I was one of those people a few times already. It wasn't sandbagging either because if it was they would've done it DURING a chase.
Another case was when I was playing as killer, I didn't even camp! I was playing as Myers and as soon as I killed this guy he literally kept spamming my PS4 messages. Calling me trash, and when I was trying to find his friend he kept saying "oh my god you're so blind! He's right there!" etc like who actually feels good enough when they literally harass someone over a video game!?
Literally left ONE game due to it lagging so badly. Of course a survivor messaged me this: "LOL sore loser." LIKE. WHAT. Okay like you didn't experience that major lag too? I'd rather take an L and depip then deal with lagging.
I literally had to close my messages and have my option as; my friends can only message me because of how nasty some messages can be. Like sometimes I laugh it off but it just gets really annoying fast. Another reason why I even stopped playing as killer.
Am I the only one seeing this like? So far on this forum it's just a bunch of people literally complaining about the most basic things from literal game mechanics to perks? Unreal.

I've got over 500 games on steam.
DBD is the only one that forced me to make my steam profile private enough said.7 -
@Gamzello looks like you're on console. From what I hear, it's more immature and annoying than PC, although PC players have a fair number of ######### among them. Still, I'd suggest switching to PC. PC ommunity seems a little bette, I have a lot of good experiences with nice people who have a sense of humour and can take the game easy, even when they lose. It's just the obnoxious ones are easier to remember.
Also: you're sooooo right about endless complaints Devs can do their best, someone will still say this game is f***ed up
My favourite is what's happening right now =and happens every time a new PTB is out): only 10 hours into the PTB and people already shriek "new killer is useless crap BHVR sucks". Sad and hilarious the same time.3 -
I didn't get complaints till I was rank 12 killer. I turn my messages off and that's that. ITS. A. GAME. People have a lot of issues when they take a game so seriously, if they really want to make it more realistic and make survivors cry only have killers mori because you don't get hit with a chainsaw then put on a hook to live another day in real life😒
As you said it's never going to be a balanced game but I'm survivor main and I have to say this game has more benefit for the killers, while a good swf is powerful random games are not as much. Of course no perk is toxic (heard that too) the only things that are toxic are: mistreating a random in a swf, killer/survivor team and farming then waiting for hatch.
Think many of us console players have dealt with the same things as you mentioned. I acually end up getting frustrated at the other survivors than the killers half the time.
Just keep those messages off or kill them with kindness in reply.1 -

I mean, expressing your opinions about a game on a forum dedicated to just that I think is perfectly fine, as long as you can do it in a calm and rational manner. It's perfectly okay to disagree and discuss different points of view. Just because we enjoy the game doesn't mean that people can't/won't have complaints.
Having said that, I do wholeheartedly agree that there's far to much toxicity, name calling and general unpleasantness around here, not to mention the whole "us vs. them" mentality. If someone makes an argument in defense of a survivor or a killer mechanic/perk/build/strategy/whatever, there's always going to be someone saying something to the effect of "you entitled [insert role being defended here] mains are all the same". It's pretty sad. But as for people who abuse people ingame, those kind of people are always going to be like that no matter what they're playing. Just ignore them, and feel sorry for them because they must be such an angry, bitter, pathetic person to find enjoyment out of hurling abuse at strangers over a video game.

DBD is the first game that forced me to lock the comment section, kinda sad yeah

Yeah the DbD community was spawned by the poor balance which lead to some kind of dominance factor since the 4 in the 4v1 aspect is OP when it's not supposed to be which lead to this mindset that you're supposed to respect 4%'s and other garbage bs made-up rules and when they let their arrogance get the better of them, they can't possibly imagine it being their fault so they take their anger out on the Killer who is just playing his part of the game. Tbh the Killer doesn't even feel like a Killer but instead feels like a placeholder for something else. I mean the survivors have all the control over the game and this has been going on for over 2 years but instead they pump out DLC and band-aid fixes for mechanical issues.
