Difference between a Rage Quit and a Game Crash
Why does the DC penalty system not the know difference between the game crashing and someone actively leaving the game as a rage quit. I've been trying to play killer (I main survivor, but killer gets more BP and I don't even have to try and 4k.)
My games aren't laggy or anything, but occasionally, the game will just completely freeze. Like, everything is frozen but I can still hear the sounds, and then it tells me I'm disconnected from the host. Then I've got a penalty.
Currently sitting with a 12 minute penalty because of crashes completely out of my control. It's really discouraging me from playing killer tbh.
This isn't a "remove the dc penalty" post, just a "learn the difference between this and that." post.

When the packets stop coming in, they don't stop coming in while holding a giant sign that tells the server why they stop coming in.
They just stop coming in.

The difference is a little something called semantics

For all intents and purposes, a rage quit and a crash have the same effect on the other players in the game, so I can see why they are treated the same. If someone is having internet issues and disconnects 4 times in a row, that's still 4 games that have been ruined for the other players. Also, people can rage quit by pulling their ethernet cable or turning off their console, which would look pretty much the same as a "legitimate" disconnect to the server.

I dont think its possible to make a difference between regular crashes and people killing the .exe on the administrator tab so it is what it is.
