*3* Easy Ways To Help Solo Queue Survivors
Excluding the aforementioned status icons.
- Survivors can see each other's perks in pregame. Yes, there is a pregame chat, but nobody reads it and there are frequently language barriers.
- While hooked or slugged, you gain partial credit/rank/BP for any healing or generators worked on. This will at least somewhat discourage suiciding, as there is a tangible, personal benefit to hanging in there - and help with the extremely frustrating 'well, I just got camped to death and depipped without being able to do anything' moments that are all too common in solo queue.
- Some sort of baseline hook aura reading along the lines of Kindred - it's just so annoying to try to coordinate unhooks without any means of communication.
Can you think of any others?

I probably sound like a broken record. But the only way to lift up solo queue to SWF is to implement ingame voice chat. No amount of icons, aura reading or notifications can make up for the instant information on the killers/totem/gen/other survivors location.
Add language options and filters, so people can choose if they want voice chat and what language they prefer. People that don´t want it, can play with people that also don´t want it.

I've played a few games with native VOIP and it's...generally not great. About 2/3 of people just opt out, and the rest is people screaming slurs into their mics. It's just a nightmare to moderate, to start with.
Not to mention it wouldn't help those of us who play early morning, as on my end it's a mix of English speakers, Spanish speakers, Mandarin speakers and Russian speakers.
On the other hand, emotes and auras are universal.
18 -
As i said, language filter. There must be enough people using the same language to fill a whole lobby.
And for the slurs, there´s a mute button. Like in other pvp games.

1. Like that idea a lot
2. Disagree as you get points based on how you performed anyway
3. Yeah, perhaps a good idea. A bit op though as some solo players are very experienced and would effectively make use of 5 perks instead of 4.
Imo, solo is meant to be difficult as you are effectively on your own and having to interpret what is happening. I've only ever played solo and I've got no issues with it whatsoever. My teammates are useful 90% of the time and its rare for me to shout at the screen when a survivor does something daft.
3 -
- Bad idea. Self care and urban evading users about to need to wait 10 hours for a lobby.
- I agree with this.
- Nothing against this either.
1 -
1. Then maybe that's a clue that you need to not use those perks
3 -
Serious players should not be punished for going off-meta. I know the example was made with Self-care, which I get the disdain, but I wouldn't want to be punished for running Alert - which I find to be a fantastic gym looping/immersion perk - just because the other survivors aren't creative enough to understand how I would use it.
2 -
I dont use those perks, but I'll 100% dodge the ones who do.
Not sure if you were around, but at some point you were able to see ranks in the lobby, I used to dodge people who werent in red ranks too. People will always dodge things if they know they are there, that's why they arent shown.
0 -
You get tired of it pretty fast - because not only do you start out with someone blasting fart sound effects through their mic at max volume, now you have to pause mid game and mute them. After a while people just disable VOIP permanently.
Nobody is going to dodge Self Care, because Self Care is one of the most popular perks around. The only one I can think that might cause dodges is No Mither, but frankly - don't run No Mither outside of a SWF, because it really is a troll perk.
I really don't think people would dodge on perks unless someone is literally running a troll build - and even if this did happen occasionally, I think the benefits would make up for it. Right now it's a giant pain when you equip Kindred and see that two other survivors did the same.
3 -
Guess I'm nobody then. I'll 100% be dodging self care users.

Ok, i can´t remember any fart sounds or slurs from back when i played R6 with ingame voice chat. I can remember some people eating and some kids or a vacuum cleaner. But nothing what you describe.
They could adapt the "did you have fun" button and turn it into a "was your teammates voice chat annoying" or something like that. So those people would end up getting matched against each other.

I think you are considerably underestimating the toxicity of this community and how abused team chat would be.
5 -
I've seen the reasons survivors DC, and Mr. 'I got found first and screwed up my Dead Hard so I'm DC'ing' probably won't want to play with Ms. Alexis 3 Aura Perks McGee. But they can always add voice and prove me wrong. I'd be fine with that.
1 -
I mean, I specifically meant self care and urban, I personally think they both take up to much time even though yeah urban is walking speed, but like...you can run if the killer doesn't have a TR and he's not a stealth killer
0 -
If you allow survivors to evaluate each others perks in the Lobby, I am extremely confident it's only going to be a matter of "Are these survivors meta enough to play with me." And a dodge will happen every time that answer is no.
5 -
Yeah, I was, but I didn't care enough to dodge them, lol, just grateful I got a game at that point
0 -
I completely agree, it will happen obviously, not everyone likes going full meta, but some perks just shouldn't be used, like alert is a good perk, urban is meh, and self care... just run bond at least, that way you probably spend less time and you get intel for the whole game
0 -
Having perks be shown to other survivors before the game is honestly a necessity I feel.
1 -
I want to %^$*& other Survivors out! Let's GO!!
0 -
Or Empathy. Man, that perk is slept on so often.
0 -
- Could be tested but the doubts ppl share are reasonable, theres a good chance people will abuse it negatively
- Good Idea
- Kindered should be basekit but it shouldnt reveal the killer aura and were good.
- Voice Chat is a horrible idea, not only is the community mentally not able to use it correctly but it destroys the atmosphere as well
- If they want to give ppl different options for loudouts, i think self care should be base kit otherwise solo q player will keep using it forever. For them its an insurance to have the possibilty to heal even with horrible teammates who actively refuse to heal them without the need to always buy and equip medkits. Beside that the effect of self care is weak and often even bad for the team depending on the situation so it shouldnt even matter and people will still run med kits on top of it.
1 -
Solo queue would be a hell of a lot easier if there weren't totally clueless people making careless mistakes.
1 -
My theory is they don't show perks in pre-game because it would increase dodging. Oh you're not running a meta build? Dodge. Don't have all your perks Tier 3? Dodge. Only running 3 perks because you're going for adept? Dodge. No Mither players would never get into a match again haha.
0 -
No Mither...frankly doesn't belong in any games outside of a SWF. 99% of the time it's straight up trolling to bring it.
2 -
- Kindred basekit
- A basic commo rose ("Do gens", "Killer is camping", "Pls take a hit :'(", etc...)
- More notifications if a teammate has certain perks (eg. if they are on the hook and they have Camaraderie/Kinship show the perk icon above the hook or something). Deliverance is another one, also Power Struggle.
Seeing perks in the lobby will be useless to me because I'll never remember them.
Showing teammate perks in the Escape/"Pause" menu would be pretty good, though.

Actually true, I ran empathy for a while, and the amount of intel I got to know from it was really nice, knowing whose injured, along with where the killer is whenever he progresses the game is very nice

Press T for text chat in game might come in handy too to plan things as the majority of players have some sort of basic English knowledge.
0 -
Do ya have any idea how long it takes to type out anything on console??
0 -
Id rather have millions of crappy solo queue games then voice chat
2 -
If they gonna implement voice chat for soloQ then we need text chat to reply to them in situations we can't voice chat and so if you can't write quickly in console pc players shouldn't get it ?
0 -
I don't think the devs actively do any changes wiith only one platform in mind, but them all.
I only brought it up because altogether the consoles are the larger playerbase, so that's a lot of controllers trying to type quickly...
0 -
PC has post game chat .. So only one platform in mind huh?
0 -
Nah, I'm not underestimating toxicity. I remember a match in R6, where a teammate started to spawn kill me, because I had more kills than him.
Immature and toxic people are everywhere. DbD needs to start a naughty list and match those people against each other. Same goes for people that rage quit suicide or constantly afk to lower their mmr.
0 -
Does anyone here remember Gamespy? It was a external program to find lobbies/games internationally. With tons of filters for maps, languages, game modes, etc.
Something like that could be implemented for voice chat. The people that don't want voice chat can simply opt out of it. No problem in that.
0 -
Are you suggesting the devs to remove this chat, because it is only on PC and they've said several times they have no plans to add it to the consoles?
0 -
If they add it, i hope they make it optional. tho i prefer not at all
Gonna get left on hook because i cant hear a teammate tho lol
0 -
Yeah, you don’t play solo. Nice attempt at gaslighting.
0 -
I´m sure there are people for everything. People that want to play without coms and people that prefer to play with coms. Of course everything should be optional. But implementing voice chat is the only thing that would bring solo queue to the same information level as SWF without buffing SWF by giving more and more hud elements.
0 -
But would it really buff Com- swf for Hud elements.
Com-SWF already have the ability to know what everyone else is doing. so I don't think it would buff Com-swf at all
0 -
remove swfs then solo becomes fine.
0 -
Take a look at how the hud elements where changed to bring solos closer to SWF. Survivors now have small icons that show what perks affect them. When they are affected by coulrophobia, overwhelming presence or unnerving presence, they get a icon that shows them, that they are inside the killers terror radius. This icon appears before you can hear the heartbeat.
Undyings aura reading next to totems gives survivors a "you are affected by a totem" warning when they first approach a totem. Giving away its position on top of what the perk is.
Downing a injured survivor with an exposed effect alerts all survivors about the exposed effect. Even the SWF group couldn´t possibly know, since the survivor was injured.
0 -
I think where talking more like
Doing a totem, Blessing a boon, Doing a gen, Healing... stuff like that
0 -
So basically, people want to buff solo Q, so it is the same as swf 😂😂. Honestly, if everyone was solo Q, and swf didn't exist, that would be a balanced game!
0 -
Stop wanting to buff Solo Queue. You're in a PARTY GAME you're not meant to be a 1 Man Solo Survivor Army Capable of doing everything. if every SoloQ = SWF in capacity that means 1 killer vs 4 SWF's every match. Stop being riddiculous. Either play in SWF or just look after yourself. Honestly it's not your fault, it's just very bad game design but don't ask for even worse game design so that you can Solo games.
0 -
Do you play sol0 queue man?
It needs heavy changes
0 -
I did yeah and most of my matches were either clear wins cause survivors have a massive advantage or i lost trying to help casual players. Casual players don't understand how much they are protected as survivors and casual killers are thrown into a false sense of superiority because casual survivors don't know how the game works. Experienced survivors don't need a full hud, they don't even need to hear the game at all because the game is designed to protect survivors because it's a CASUAL PARTY GAME. The whole of the Map is your defense system, the number of survivors is your defense system, the 3 hooks required to kill someone is your defense system, Perks is your defense system, but alot of people still want to be 1 man armies!? Freaking WOW.
0 -
We can´t talk about the future without seeing how the devs tried to bring solos and SWF together in the past. Everything they´ve done so far has buffed SWF. More hud elements would do this even further.
0 -
I really don't know how Adding infrotmation a COM-SWF ALLREADY HAS, will buff them further
0 -
Because a SWF group won´t non stop inform everyone about what they are doing. Seeing it with a glance would make everything else so much more efficient. During a chase, the chased guy will inform about it. Where he goes, etc. But Feng won´t say "doing a totem right now". Because that information is redundant during said chase. However, it would be a information that would be on display on the hud.
0 -
That is a problem. Because if you bring voicechat, you have to rebalance the game, and then its not simply a choice to opt out anymore.
If you dont balance the game around it, killers will get a hard time with the people who do use it. I dont think thats a solution.
